Core abilities[edit]

Bastion of Purity: Each Core Enhancement in the Shintao tree, including this one, grants you the following passive effects:
  • +10 Positive Energy Spell Power
  • +10 Positive Healing Amplification

Antirequisite: This enhancement cannot be taken at the same time as Improved Recovery I or II in the Half-Elf tree.

Bug: This is possible at the moment. Same for Improved Recovery in the Human tree.

Protection from Tainted Creatures: You gain a +1 bonus to Armor Class and a +1 bonus to saving throws. These bonuses stack with all other bonuses to armor class and saving throws. Your attacks while Centered now bypass Byeshk damage reduction.

Smite Tainted Creature: Ki Melee Attack: You have the ability to expend Ki to deal devastating blows in melee. You gain twice your Wisdom modifier to your attack roll and a damage bonus based on your monk level. Targets will be locked in a tomb of jade on vorpal attacks (attack roll of 20 followed by critical confirmation) on a failed Will save (DC = 10 + Wisdom modifier + your monk level + Stunning DC boosts). Extraplanar creatures, Aberrations, and Undead must succeed at two consecutive Will saves to avoid their fate. (Activation Cost: 15 Ki. Cooldown: 15 seconds)

Iron Skin: While centered, you gain an additional 5/10/20 PRR.

Elemental Ki Strikes: Select one of four attacks that have secondary aftereffects: (Activation Cost: 5 Ki. Cooldown: 3 seconds)
  • Eagle Claw Attack: Ki Melee Attack: Deals +20% Damage. Your attacks can shatter objects. You strike at weak points in your opponent's armor or hide, applying four stacks of Armor Destruction. (Each stack reduces Armor Class by 1 and Fortification by 1% for 20 seconds. This effect can stack up to 15 times.)
  • Fists of Iron: Ki Melee Attack: Deals +30% Damage. You have imbued your attacks with extra force. +1 Critical Threat Range, +1 Critical Damage Multiplier.
  • Knock on the Sky: Ki Melee Attack: Deals +10% Damage. You strike your opponent, deflecting their momentum. Your enemy deals 4% less physical damage for 30 seconds. This effect can stack up to 5 times.
  • Unbalancing Strike: Ki Melee Attack: Deals +20% Damage. You have learned several joint strikes. You can attack these weak points of your opponent, throwing them off balance for a short period of time. This reduces their armor class by 2, applies a -10 penalty to their Balance skill, and renders them vulnerable to sneak attacks. A successful Reflex save negates this effect (DC 10 + Half Monk Level + Wisdom modifier + Trip modifiers). The target receives periodic saves to attempt to break free of this effect.

Quick Strike: Centered Melee Attack: Deals +10%/+20%/+30% Damage. You gain a 5%/15%/25% Morale bonus to Doublestrike for 10 seconds. (Cooldown 18/15/12 seconds)

Tier Three[edit]

Jade Strike: Ki Melee Attack: You perform a melee attack that is especially powerful against tainted creatures. On hitting a target, this attack increases their physical damage vulnerability by 10% and reduces their fortification by 25%. A successful Will save negates this effect. On critical hits, a target will be locked in a tomb of jade. A successful Will save negates this effect. The DC for both Will saves is (10 + Monk level + Wisdom modifier + Stunning DC boosts). Aberrations, Extraplanar creatures, and Undead receive double the vulnerability and fortification debuff, and must make two consecutive saves to avoid being entombed. (Activation Cost: 10 Ki. Cooldown: 15 seconds)

Hands of Mercy: Multiselector:
  • Hand of Harm: Melee Attack: You strike your opponent down with a terrible curse, halving all positive energy healing done to the target, reducing its fortification by 25%. This attack automatically counts as a Critical Hit. Periodic Fortitude saves (14 + STR/DEX/WIS Modifier + Monk Level + Stunning Bonuses) to negate. (Cooldown: 9 seconds). Requires Path of Inevitable Dominion
  • Hand of Healing: You heal all nearby allies for 1d4 plus 1d4 per monk level. (Cooldown: 9 seconds). Requires Path of Harmonious Balance

Fists of Light: Multiselector:
  • Dismissing Strike: Ki Melee Attack: You perform a melee attack that attempts to force an extraplanar enemy back to its proper plane. A successful Will save negates this effect (DC = 10 + Wisdom modifier + your monk level + stunning DC boosts). (Activation Cost: 25 Ki. Cooldown: 15 seconds). Requires Path of Inevitable Dominion
  • Fists of Light: Deals +15% Damage. Ki Melee Attack: You have chosen to follow the path of light. You seek to be at harmony with the world, and your training will reflect your philosophy. You can activate this ability to channel energy into your attack, dealing 4 to 24 additional Light damage, and applying a healing shield to your target which heals your allies that strike your target. On a vorpal strike (natural 20 followed by critical confirmation), you deal an additional 1 to 50 positive energy damage to undead. Both sets of damage scale with melee power (Activation Cost: 10 Ki. Cooldown: 3 seconds). Requires Path of Harmonious Balance

Tomb of Jade: Ki Melee Attack: You perform an attack that encases a target in a tomb of jade on a failed Will save (DC = 10 + Wisdom modifier + your monk level + Stunning DC boosts). Extraplanar creatures, Aberrations, and Undead must succeed at two consecutive Will saves to avoid this fate. (Activation Cost: 25 Ki. Cooldown: 1 minute)

Greater Hands of Mercy: Multiselector:
  • Greater Hand of Harm: Targets affected by your Hand of Harm are also Blinded and Nauseated until they save. Requires Hand of Harm.
  • Greater Hand of Healing: Your Hand of Healing now applies a Lesser Restoration effect and removes Blindness, Curses, and Diseases. Requires Hand of Healing.

Instinctive Defense: You take [5%/10%/15%] less extra damage when struck while helpless. (Additional damage while helpless varies by difficulty setting from 5% to 25%.)

Tier Five[edit]

Empty Hand Mastery: While you are Centered, you gain a +1 Competence bonus to Critical Threat Range and Multiplier. Passive: You gain a +25% Competence bonus to Max Hit Points.

Kukan-Do: Ki Activate: You lock gazes with an enemy, stunning them for a short period of time on a failed Will save (DC 14 + Wisdom modifier + your monk level + stunning bonuses). Any effects that modify your Stunning Blow or Stunning Fist DC's also affect this ability. Sightless creatures are unaffected by this ability. (Activation Cost: 25 Ki. Cooldown: 15 seconds)
AP Cost: 1 Ranks: 1 Progression: 30
Violence Begets Violence: While Centered, when an opponent misses you in melee, you gain +1 critical threat range for 6 seconds. This stacks up to 5 times and is reset if you critically hit.
AP Cost: 1 Ranks: 1 Progression: 30 Requires: Instinctive Defense
Meditation of War: Toggle: You gain +3 to Attack and Damage, as well as additional benefits in different stances:
  • Air Stance: +2 to hit, +10% bonus to off-hand attack chance.
  • Fire Stance: +2 bonus to damage and to the DC's of your Stun, Sunder, and Trip abilities.
  • Earth Stance: +10 to Physical Resistance and +10% quality bonus to Max Hit Points.
  • Water Stance: +5 Maximum Dodge Bonus.
AP Cost: 1 Ranks: 1 Progression: 30
Rise of the Phoenix: Activate While Dead: The spirit of a phoenix burns within you. You may bring yourself back from death's door, as if affected by the Resurrection spell. This ability may only be used once per rest. (Cooldown: 15 minutes)
