Overview
Completing quests on Reaper difficulty grants your characters Reaper experience that can be turned in for Reaper Points. The Reaper Points can be spent in three Reaper Trees.
Reaper trees can be accessed from menu (individual menu selection then usual Enhancements). You can set up a shortcut key for easier access - in the shortcut keys menu, look for "Reaper Enhancements" in the Panels area; many people bind this to ctrl-T. The reaper enhancement panel will also show you how much reaper experience you have. Reaper enhancements can be reset similar to the way Enhancement Trees are reset, with platinum or Astral Shards.
Reaper Experience / Reaper Points carry over through Reincarnations.
Reaper abilities are level-gated, as shown below. Note that although you can earn Reaper XP from Level 1, no Reaper Enhancements are available until Level 4:

Maximum bonus hit points
Since Update 42 Patch 4, the maximum number of extra hitpoints you can benefit from in Reaper Mode (from taking reaper enhancements) is now gated by character level.

Most abilities in the trees function only on Reaper difficulty, with the exception of second and higher core abilities.
Reaper XP needed per Reaper Point
The RXP cost per Rank is equal to...
- {2,000 * (Level) - 1,000}
Cumulative RXP is equal to...
- {(total number of ranks)2 * 1,000 RXP}
...so, for example, your 7th Reaper Point costs a total of (7 * 7) * 1,000 RXP, or 49,000 RXP.
- Unlike standard Enhancements bought with Action Points, Reaper Points are not capped at 80 (source: DDO Forums). In fact, there is technically no known cap on Reaper XP at all (presumably it exists, but nobody has ever reached it), save perhaps how much of your life you're prepared to spend running Reaper quests. However, there is currently no benefit besides bragging rights to achieving a level beyond 156, as at this level you obtain the last point needed to max out the Reaper Tree and cannot spend any further points gained.
