Soul Survivor is the 6th quest in The Soul-Splitter story arcStory arcs are chains of quests that make up a story line.
Completing everything in a story arc often yields a nice reward.

Overview

You're about to take on Fathom Endeavors, the group behind the Warforged kidnappings. Follow the House Lyrandar flags on the docks to the Lyrandar Warship and put a stop to their crimes once and for all.

Quest Entrance: In a dinghy to west of quest giver, at end of narrow, crooked dock. NB: Quest entrance does not flash on minimap when highlighted in the quest log (default key "L").

Tips and Misc

Entrance / Warship

  • Talk to Dorris
    • NB: THIS IS IMPORTANT – it allows Dorris to follow the characters, and she needs to be with the party to complete some quest objectives
    • There is a lever near the entrance that lets players call Dorris to them if she gets lost
    • ... which is not needed anymore after a similar lever has been added near the Prototype Soul Splitter.
  • Go north into the office area to speak to Captain Loren d'Lyrandar
  • Go back south into the bathroom. Use the lever on the wall to open an elevator down to the lower level

Outer Labs

  • There is a note on the wall labelled Daily Calendar near the entrance. It lists the day of the week. Based on that day, a note in the Lab Assistant's Quarters indicates where the Lab Assistant, Hilki Hyde, can be found:
  * Sul – Leisure day, no work unless needed by Doctor Vulcana.
  * Mol – Alchemy Lab
  * Zol – Library
  * Wir – Workshop
  * Zor – Galley
  * Far – Central Laboratory
  * Sar – Personal day, errands on the surface
  • Locate and speak to the Lab Assistant to get the passcode (0-2-4-9-2) to the Abandoned Experiments Wing.
    • If the day is Sul, Hilki will be in the Lab Assistant's Office. It is impossible for the day to be Sar.
    • The door of the room is locked while 'convincing' Hilki. Bug: Be sure that your last-used dialog option gives the passcode. Otherwise, the door may stay locked and Hilki may become invincible and re-aggro.
  • A secret door across the corridor from the Inert Warforged Storage room gives access to a chest.
  • Shield Sentinels spawn on the blue pad in the corridors to defend the area. Disabling the alarm system stops these spawns. The Alarm System Control room is to the west of the map (Location #6).
    • Use the three small levers in the correct combination to light the three yellow gems above the levers. Then use the big lever to disable the alarm system.
      • The puzzle mechanism has been changed recently. The order in which the levers are used has an impact if traps or reinforcements are activated. Although the combination may be random, all recent runs had mid lever, then the right one.

Abandoned Experiments Wing

Abandoned Experiments Wing: Tile Puzzle in the Prototype room (yellow rune lit)
  • Use the passcode (0-2-4-9-2) on the elevator at the rear of the Inert Warforged Storage room to access the Abandoned Experiments Wing
  • Follow the corridor straight ahead, then left at the end and left again to reach the Prototype Soul-Splitter device inside the Prototype Soul-Splitter "Failed Experiment A" room. Use it.
  • If you lost Dorris somewhere use the "Call for Dorris" lever NOW.
  • Solve the puzzle to light the Yellow rune (avoiding the Red runes), then use the Prototype Soul-Splitter again.
    • Free the soul stored in the soul splitter ("Release the Soul", which belongs to Issabet Tremont)
    • Talk to Dorris when Issabet's soul takes over Dorris's body – Bug: Do not take any actions after freeing the soul until waiting for the full animation to finish, and for Dorris to stand back up or the quest will glitch out.
  • Pull the lever to activate the purple crystal
  • Exit the Prototype Soul-Splitter room then take the first left turn to reach a room (purple locked crystal room: now unlocked by activating the purple crystal)
    • Enter the room and kill The Stitcher's pets.
    • Pull the green gem lever to activate the green crystal
  • Head back to the main hallway and cross over (i.e. go straight, do not return through main entrance) to reach the door to the Central Laboratory (unlocked by activating both purple and Yellow crystals)

Central Laboratory

  • On entering, note the location of the escape lever nearby
  • Kill Yve, the Warforged Titan (and trash mobs)
  • Kill Doctor Theia Vulcana (and trash mobs)
    • Bug: Reading the journals is currently impossible to complete because part 3 is clipped through the floor and untargetable
  • Pull the lever on the right side of the room to open a small closet (Soul repository Control System) containing valves and crystals
    • Bug: The lever is partially overlaid by an invisible object; look at it from the left side.
  • Solve the puzzles as follows:
    • Light the Yellow runes on both right and left puzzles (NB: Lighting a Red tile will spawn Shield Sentinels and mess up the puzzle) – (yellow rune lit): step 1 images
    • Turn the Yellow valve in the closet (unlocks the Yellow side of the central valve)
    • Light the Blue runes on both right and left puzzles – (blue rune lit): step 3 images
    • Turn the Blue valve in the closet (unlocks the Blue side of the central valve)
    • Turn the Central valve in the closet.
  • Speak to the Iron Defender on a workbench near the closet (now containing Dorris's soul)
  • Use the Prototype Soul-Splitter to extract Dorris's soul from the Iron Defender
    • With the Blue runes active, interact with the Prototype Soul-Splitter (brownish cylindrical looking machine touching the tiles) to extract Dorris from the Iron Defender
    • With the Yellow runes active, interact with the Prototype Soul-Splitter to release Dorris's soul into the Warforged Titan
  • Destroy the lab (8 items in total)
    • Smash two pipes to either side of each puzzle (4 items)
    • Smash the panes of glass on the sides of the soul fish tank (4 items – these are not obvious)
    • The room starts to flood
  • Pull the escape lever by the room entrance. Use the red Dimension Door that opens to escape the flood
  • Speak to Kalphan Riak to complete the quest then loot the chest
