Overview

A woman is searching for Alek and Valentina, her niece and nephew. They vanished near Old Bonegrinder, a mill where an old woman sells dream pastries to desperate Barovians. Visit Old Bonegrinder and track down her missing relatives.

Tips and Misc

Walkthrough

• Talk to the people gathered around the mill. Convince the 3 in the front of the line to leave (Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate DC 25 on all difficulties).
• Talk to the old woman behind the door of the mill.
• Run into the forest to locate three pieces of evidence. (Urn, Mangled Corpse, and Valentina's ghost)
  • The Urn is located on top of a hill in the upper right hand of the map. It is surrounded by 4 megaliths.
  • The Mangled Corpse is randomly located on the map, always east of the creek.
  • Valentina's ghost is wandering randomly over the map. Once approached, she will stop.
    • For her to spawn, you first need to kill a sufficient number of wolves (or possibly total kills ~55). Appears 50–55 kills is correct – that spawned her twice, both without leader of the pack done.
    • The number may be lower than 50–55. Valentina was observed to spawn with 20 kills on EN, including the Leader of the Pack. Only killed spawning creatures, all sleeping creatures and wisps were left alone. Spawn observed NH at 16 wolf kills, including sleeping wolfs, plus 5 wisps.
    • If you have trouble finding her, be sure to check the northwest corner of the map. She has been known to spawn in that location, and if she does she will be stationary and not wander the forest.
• Return to the mill and confront the old woman.
• Kill the townsfolk that attack you and kick down the door to the windmill.
• Inside the mill, kill some dretches and the three hags. You must defeat the young daughters in their human form to reveal them as hags. Once revealed, the hags must be defeated again to get credit.
  • If you kill the mother (Old Morgantha) before the daughters, the quest ends here – you'll get only one chest with named loot.
  • If you kill the two daughters (two times) first, Morgantha flees and you get to kill her later. Morgantha is restored to full health for the final fight, so there is no point in attacking her in the tower after she has shifted to hag form.
• Speak with Valentina's ghost again and burn down the mill with the Boiling Oil Pot.
• Go to the center of the forest (on the hill where the Urn is located) and defeat the enemies to conclude the adventure. This includes some optional XP and an extra chest. The chest in the mill and the end chest on the hill can both contain named items.
• This quest cannot be re-entered if no one remains in the quest. The usual 5 minute instance timer does not apply.
