Tips and Misc

• This is a standalone side-quest, not part of the main storyline. The questgiver is by the entrance. This is an extremely short quest.
• Note: Don't forget to talk to Dame Alonsa after entering the quest. It's not possible to complete this objective after initiating the fight with the windmill.
• Dame Alonsa will fight alongside you, but you don't need to worry about defending her or keeping her alive; she's well capable of taking care of herself.
• The Windmill's primary attack involves a squat, crushing anything beneath it. This is telegraphed by a white circle on the ground beneath it, giving you plenty of time to get out from under.
• The windmill is powered by three Summoned Topiary Lions with purple gemstones attached to their heads. Destroying these gemstones is necessary to defeat the Windmill. You can damage neither the Windmill nor the Summoned Topiary Lions with gemstones; however, the Windmill damages everything it sits on...
• After defeating the Windmill (which ends the quest), you can earn some bonus XP by heading further down the path. A (locked) Secret door, (Lock DC) leads to the hiding place of the windmill's creator, Armond Allweather. Sparkles appear by the rock wall where the secret doors are, there doesn't appear to be any Spot alert.
  • With the Secret sparkly door, it gives a clue: "You can tell this rock is false, but you cannot find a way past it....", i.e. you can actually use Dispel Magic to open that door resulting in: "His disguise foiled, the Gnome sends his pets forward to attack." The other secret door leading to the room requires unlocking by conventional means.
  • You can head down the path before defeating the windmill; however, the doors are unsearchable.
• Topiary Lions with gemstones can be body-blocked from moving with a bit of wiggling. Simply stand in front of them.
• This quest can be solo farmed on Elite Reaper difficulty by characters with decent Sneak skill. Windmill will follow a stealthed character (hit it once to aggravate it in the beginning just to make sure), and the Dame Alonsa NPC will tank all spawns including reapers. Stay away from reapers just in case, and simply lead the windmill around to the Topiary Lions with the gemstones while stealthed.
• The Topiary Lion can be tripped or webbed to stay in place. The Trip DC on Legendary Reaper is only about 25. It's very easy to trip the lion with the special gem, even on a pure caster.
