Tips and Misc

• The Traveler has tasked you with gaining the favor of the Dark Six, a pantheon of gods with which you've built up a considerable amount of bad blood over the years. To gain their favor, you must complete five trials, then return to the central altar to face a final trial from the Traveler himself.
• Each of the five trials is a short mini-area concluding in a fight with at least one orange-named boss, and also has one optional in it somewhere.
  • Once a trial is completed, the door is blocked by a barrier and a Dimension Door opens at the end of the trial. The trials cannot be re-entered, so make sure to do any optionals you wish before leaving.
  • Bug: If certain trials are left until last, the objective to complete all five trials is marked as complete when the fourth trial is complete. If this is the Trial of the Devourer. It still needs to be completed to finish the quest; however, the Trial of the Shadow can currently be skipped entirely.
• The five trials are (clockwise from the top):

Chamber of The Fury

• A large melee culminating in three orange-named bosses attacking at once. Just charge in and kill anything that moves.
• Optional: Defeat Vernon. Vernon is standing atop a wall in the central arena. To challenge him, speak to him after the main fight ends. Note that he will summon Furious Shadow Worgs when first injured, unless he is one-shotted.

Chamber of The Keeper

• Observer Kan'Takta has trapped four orange-named undead in magical fields. You must either release and defeat them, or seal them away permanently. Sealing all four undead completes this area's optional objective.
• There are four tile puzzles around the room. To seal one of the undead away, you must power the gem on the puzzle. Note that if any trap tile is powered, the undead is released and the puzzle locks, making the optional impossible to complete.
  • At present, if turning a tile on one of the puzzles powers both a trap tile and a gem at once, the undead is released, but the optional counts it as being sealed, meaning you can fight all four undead and still complete the optional. This may be a bug.needs verification

Chamber of The Devourer

• A short series of straightforward fights, although note that one section is underwater (movement is slowed, jumping doesn't work as well, electric and sonic damage is increased, fire damage is reduced.)
• Optional: Defeat the Guardian of the Conch. The Conch of Secrets from Dread Sea Scrolls is in the crashed pirate ship in the end room. Speak to it to summon the Guardian.
• One of the four secret chests containing Dust of Vile Darkness is in this quest, under the wreck of the Devourer's Jaw. Note that a character must have Steps' Lenses of Seein' Hidden Hand Secrets equipped to loot the chest. This chest drops heroic and legendary Crimson dust.

Chamber of The Mockery

• This chamber is absolutely swimming in traps, including a jumping section through a large pool of acid in the centre. This acid hurts, even on Heroic Normal, so stay out of it whenever possible.
• Optional: Survive the ambush in the fake shrine. Two randomly located levers are underneath the giant pool of acid in the centre of this quest. Pulling them opens a door to an illusory set of Shrines; approaching these triggers an ambush from a few Devoted Assassins.

Chamber of the Shadow

• Archmage Leslie Wobblewheel wants you to fight her and a heavily buffed Flesh Golem. After first speaking with her, you get the option to convince each of her four assistants to remove a buff from the golem with a set of skill checks. You get three tries for each assistant. The optional for this area requires you to succeed on at least one check for all four assistants.
  • Ambition requires a skill check for either UMD or Disable Device. If you succeed on his check, the golem's Melee, Ranged and Spell Power decrease.
  • Dianin requires a skill check for either Perform or Swim. If you succeed on her check, the golem's saving throws decrease.
  • Izuna requires a skill check for either Heal or Spellcraft. If you succeed on her check, the golem's Magical Resistance Rating decreases.
  • Kradan d'Kundarak requires a skill check for either Repair or Haggle. If you succeed on his check, the golem's Physical Resistance Rating decreases.
    • The DCs for these checks are believed to all be the same, with the possible exception of UMD. Known DCs:  ♠47Elite ●♥61-70Epic Hard
• After you've finished talking to her assistants, speak to Leslie again to fight her and the golem.

The Final Trial: Chamber of the Traveler

• Once the other five trials are done, return to the Traveler's chamber. The eight statues in the centre reveal themselves to be Doppelgangers, and attack! Once the last two red-named Doppelgangers are slain, the quest will complete.
