Tips and Misc
- Despite their name, Frost-Forged Defenders aren't vulnerable to fire.
- There are various Mysterious Paintings around; they'll all take you to the large painting behind the Baroness & Prince of Frost.
- To get to Ausha, you need to pull two levers; one in the Treasure Vault in the Cellar, and one in the Baroness' quarters.
- There are multiple ways into the Treasure Vault:
- You can use a social skill on the headwaiter to lie (bluff), intimidate, or persuade (diplomacy) your way past
- You can just pick the door.
- You can ask the headwaiter if there's any way to change his mind. Note that if you use a social skill, you can no longer pick up this optional.
- This option requires you to take a nap (/sleep) on a couch in the north, across from the Garden.
- Bug: This option currently (U48.3) does not work, requiring you to either restart or open/pick the door after killing the spider; better to use a social skill if you can, or just open the door from the getgo.
- Whichever method you choose, you'll still have to deal with the guards inside the Vault itself.
- You can try to get Ausha to unlock the Garden doors using Diplomacy, Intimidate, or Spellcraft checks; a success will convince him to unlock it for you, but if you fail, you'll have to fight him.
- After picking the Cerise, you'll be trapped inside the Garden. If you can't Dimension Door, then climb a snowy staircase in the northwest and shatter a sheet of ice blocking the door.
- A fountain on the south wall of the Prince's quarter opens a secret panel on the east wall.
- A secret door in the southeast corner in the Gamesters' Lounge reveals a spiral stair with a back way into the South Wing.
- You can find out what happened to the Baron by reading three notes in his quarters in the South Wing.
- To get the "Learn more about the Prince of Frost" and "Defeat the Frost Giant" optionals, you need to shoot the orb that is being held by the statue in the Prince's secret chamber (far east of the map and behind the secret panel), and read the "preserved journal" that falls out.
