Tokens of the Twelve are ingredient rewards you receive from treasure bags from certain adventures and wilderness areas in the realm of Eberron that can be used for crafting or to receive special items used in reincarnation.
Before Update 17, these tokens and their fragment counterparts were known as "Epic Dungeon Tokens" or "Token Fragments." The name change appears to have come from distinguishing their origins, as these tokens and fragments only drop from high-level Epic Normal, Hard and Elite adventures found on the realm of Eberron (original campaign), and not the Forgotten Worlds realm of Faerun, the setting of the Menace of the Underdark expansion, where their Epic level content does not give out these ingredients.
The mechanics of the renamed Tokens work identically to their previous incarnation. Players who possessed tokens or fragments prior to Update 17 will now see these as renamed in their inventory or storage.
[edit] Tokens of the Twelve Fragments
- 100 Token Fragments can be converted to a Token of the Twelve at the Altar of Epic Rituals.
- Mob corpse treasure bags drop 1 Token Fragment at a time in each bag. These bags are often found in Eberron realm wilderness areas such as the Subterrane or in Epic Normal, Hard and Epic Elite versions of some Heroic-accessible quests.
- Fragments fall from any CR25+ enemies that would have dropped a collectable, regardless of quest difficulty.
- Fragments can also be rewarded as loot rewards in these adventures.
- You can also obtain these in exchange for the Epic Cannith Challenge Ingredients at a rate of 5 ingredients to 1 fragment.
[edit] Tokens of the Twelve
- Tokens can be used to buy the Update 17 version of augment crystals used by many items throughout the game.
- Tokens were used as currency to buy the outmoded Epic Augment Crystals (see Epic Crafting) from the < Epic Vendor > Lahar in the Twelve. These type of augment crystals no longer appear in-game. Items that used the old augment system can be converted to use the new slot system with the Stone of Change and dragonshards.
- 20 Tokens of the Twelve can be exchanged for a True Reincarnation token (True Druidic Heart of Wood).
- Tokens can be obtained as a reward from some more difficult dungeons, in the end reward Epic Chest.
- You can also obtain these in exchange for the Epic Cannith Challenge Ingredients at a rate of 300 ingredients per 1 token.
[edit] Greater Token of the Twelve
- Greater Tokens of the Twelve replace the "Epic Raid Token" in name. They can appear as Epic end-chest rewards from Epic raids from Eberron, such as from The Chronoscope in Epic Normal, Hard or Epic Elite difficulties.
- Old updates showed a Token floating above an Epic Chest that could be clicked to retrieve it. This floating disk has since been removed with Update 15.
- There are no Greater Token fragments, instead, the game sets the easier Epic modes to only have a chance at rewarding the token:
- Epic Normal raids have a decent chance at rewarding a Greater token.
- Epic Hard raids have a high chance at rewarding a Greater token.
- Epic Elite always rewards an Epic Raid token. Select raids actually even reward 2.
- Greater Tokens can be used to buy Augment Crystals (see Epic Crafting) from the < Epic Vendor > Lahar in the Twelve.
- You only need these when you want to buy an Augment Crystal for a +1 Exceptional Stat or +7 Enhancement Bonus
- One Greater Token can be converted to a Token of the Twelve at the Stone of Change.
[edit] Drop per quest
Note: This section is somewhat outdated. Update 14 expanded Epic difficulty into four new difficulties, each of which have different drop-rates for Tokens of the Twelve, Greater Tokens and fragments.
- Epic Casual: Drops 3-10% of the previously rewarded fragments, never a token.
- Epic Normal: Drops 11-30% of the previously rewarded fragments. Some very tough epics still reward a token. Monsters generally still have fragments.
- Epic Hard: Drops 31-60% of the previously rewarded fragments. Some very tough epics still reward a token. Monsters generally still have fragments.
- Epic Elite: Drops equal or more fragments/tokens then previous rewards. Some very tough epics even rewards 2 or more tokens. Monsters generally still have fragments and drop them at a even higher rate.
Epic dungeons and raids of Eberron award special Epic Tokens/Fragments at the end of quest inside of their Epic Chest. There are several types of them and the type depends on the quest you've completed.
Number of drops vary from quest to quest. Longer ones are supposed to give a larger number of rewards.
Note: Table needs an update. Currently it's only updated to list Epic Elite values.
