(Redirected from Flame strike)
Jump to: navigation, search
Name: Flame Strike
School: Evocation (Fire)
Level: Clr 5, Drd 4, FvS 5
Spell Point Cost: 20
Components: VerbalIcon tooltip.pngVerbal: A verbal component is a spoken incantation. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot act or speak. This has no gameplay applications in DDO, as all characters can always speak and there are no effects which prevent you from doing so., SomaticIcon tooltip.pngSomatic: A somatic component is a measured and precise movement of the hand. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot move causing arcane spell failure resulting in a ruined spell. Spells without a somatic component may be used with disregard to Arcane Spell Failure chance. Note - that characters make the same arm gestures for most spells in DDO, so you can't tell which spells require this component by watching your character's animations., Divine FocusIcon tooltip.pngDivine Focus: A divine focus component is an item of spiritual significance. The divine focus for a Cleric, Favored Soul, or Paladin is a holy symbol appropriate to the character’s faith. This has no gameplay applications in DDO, as all characters are always considered to be carrying a divine focus component at all times and it does not require a inventory slot.
Metamagic: Empower, Enlarge, Heighten, Maximize, Quicken
Range: Standard AOE
Target: Foe, Positional
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Reflex save takes half damage
Spell Resistance: No
Cooldown: 4 seconds

A flame strike produces a vertical column of divine fire roaring downward. The spell deals 1d3+1d3 points of damage per caster level. Maximum caster level 15. 1d3 of the damage is fire damage, but the other 1d3 results directly from divine power and is therefore not subject to being reduced by resistance to fire based attacks. A successful Reflex save reduces the damage by half.

The fire portion is scaled by fire spellpower as normal, while the non-fire portion is scaled by force spellpower.
