Description

Enchants the items currently equipped in the target's right and left hands to grant their wielder proficiency if the items are simple or martial weapons or shields, and lasts until the target rests.

Notes:

  • The spell applies to the item itself, not the person wielding it. The wielder can pass the weapon or shield to another character, who then gains the proficiency.
  • Dwarves are granted Dwarven Waraxe proficiency.
  • Shields lose the armor check penalty to attack rolls, but retain the penalty to skill rolls, as well as the chance of Spell Failure.
    • This also applies to a Tower Shield, although the miminum Attack Penalty of -2 still applies.
  • Scrolls of this spell are available for purchase in The Portable Hole.
    • The caster must hold the scroll in the main hand; therefore, if casting the scroll on themself, the weapon must be in their offhand - which cannot be done for two-handed weapons, bows, or crossbows. The caster can, however, have another character hold the weapon during the casting, or wield the weapon themself and have another person use the scroll.
  • Master's Touch does not quality as a temporary item enchantment for purposes of stacking with other such bonuses; as such, Master's Touch can be used in conjunction with a temporary weapon enchantment such as Deadly Weapons.
