You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot move causing arcane spell failure resulting in a ruined spell. Description

You can slay any one living creature within range. The target is entitled to a Fortitude saving throw to survive the attack. If the save is successful, the creature instead takes 2d3+6 negative energy damage per caster level (max 50d3+150 at caster level 25).

Notes

  • The subject might die from damage even if it succeeds on its saving throw.
  • Finger of Death is a death effect, and as such a Deathblock item, or Deathward spell will provide immunity.
  • The spell damage is affected by bonuses to Negative Spell power and the Heal skill.
  • minor bug: The damage in the official description (7-12) does not accurately represent the dice notation provided at the bottom of the description (2d3+6).
