Description
This spell frees victims from harmful enchantments, transmutations, and curses. Break enchantment can reverse even an instantaneous effect. For each such effect, you make a caster level check (1d20 + caster level, maximum +15) against a DC of 11 + caster level of the effect. Success means that the creature is free of the spell, curse, or effect.
Note: This spell can also remove persistent area of effects spells such as Blade Barrier, Cloudkill and many others. Unlike the effect on players, this will remove both friendly and harmful effects. Also unlike the effect on players, there is no caster level check.. All effects hit by the area of effect will always be removed.
Targetting Note: Manually targetting spells in DDO can be tricky. Many players mistake failed targetting of area of effects as failed caster level checks, when they in fact do not exist. What generally happens is the targetting may appear to hit the correct area, but missed as far as the game is concerned. You must hit the EXACT epicenter of a persistent area of effect to properly remove it.
Also keep in mind that currently you CANNOT manually target scrolls when you have auto targetting enabled (they will always target yourself). Thus if you wish to remove a persistent area of effect with a scroll, and there is no player directly inside it to target it, you'll need to disable auto targetting, and carefully aim your mouse reticule at the area you wish to dis-enchant.
