Spell Level: AotS 2 , Blc 3 , Drd 3 , Sor/Wiz 3 , Storm 4 , Wlk 2 , Wild 3
Special:
Components: VerbalVerbal: A verbal component is a spoken incantation. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot act or speak. Certain rare spells, such as Silence Creature, may temporarily disable spells that require verbal components., SomaticSomatic: A somatic component is a measured and precise movement of the hand. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot move causing arcane spell failure resulting in a ruined spell. Spells without a somatic component may be used with disregard to Arcane Spell Failure chance. Note - that characters make the same arm gestures for most spells in DDO, so you can't tell which spells require this component by watching your character's animations., MaterialMaterial: A material component is one or more physical substances or objects that are annihilated by the spell energies in the casting process. You must have the required items in your inventory. If you run out of the components, the game will not allow you to cast the spell and will instead inform you of what component is missing. The metamagic feat Eschew Materials and some enhancements in Draconic Incarnation can remove this restriction.

Description

Driving sleet blocks all sight (attackers are blinded, even those with darkvision) within it and causes the ground in the area to be icy, slowing targets within it by 50%. Also creates a slippery icy surface, which creatures within (including allies) must succeed on a DC 10 Reflex check or be knocked prone for 6 seconds. It also prevents creatures from tumbling or jumping while within it.

Notes

  • Every 6 seconds all creatures within must succeed on a DC 10 Reflex check or be knocked prone for 6 seconds, also allows a recurring balance save every 2 seconds to get up.
  • The DC never scales and remains at 10 regardless of who casts the spell.
  • In pen and paper: The sleet extinguishes torches and small fires.
  • Freedom of Movement completely negates this spell.
  • Caution: The knockdown and slippery surface portion affects party members in addition to enemies. The blindness does not affect party members.
  • Red and Purple named creatures are completely immune to all portions of this spell.
  • Despite dealing no damage, the spell is considered a Cold Spell and will proc effects accordingly, e.g. Mantle of the Icy Soul or Mantle of Nature - Sky
