Race: Elf

Gender: Male

Bestows Quest(s): Blockade Buster, Dream Conspiracy

Affiliation(s): The Coin Lords

Locations:

Description: <Coin Lord>

Notes: Wylkes is one of the four Coin Lords. While at the Lordsmarch Plaza, he and other Coin Lords are troubled by the approach of Droaam forces near Stormreach. Wylkes and other Coin Lords are attacked by Hesstess and turned to stone, awaiting rescue in the quest Eyes of Stone. Wylkes bestows the quest Blockade Buster and offers a quest end reward (another NPC in the Plaza offers the story arc's final end reward). Later he can be found in his manor and ask for your help to rescue his son, Jonas, from some Path of Inspiration members, while also housing a sick Jeets Shimis who fell into a catatonic state after doing some investigations for him.

Partycrashers[edit]

Graden Wylkes can be seen in a reserved corner at the second floor talking to ????. Talking to him will make he randomly say one of those lines:

  • Graden Wylkes: The Dar Qat negotiator seems forthright, but he gives me an uneasy feeling.
  • Graden Wylkes: If you can deliver the airships you've promised, then I shall make sure House Lyrandar's interests are taken care of.
  • Graden Wylkes: In truth, I would much rather rely on trade with the continent of Khorvaire, but the potential of trade with Dar Qat is too lucrative to ignore.

Lordsmarch Palace[edit]

Before you are bestowed the quest Diplomatic Impunity, he will be with the other Coin Lords discussing with Droaam embassador Hesstess.

  • Graden Wylkes: Droaam is an up-and-coming power on Khorvaire .... They would make a powerful trade partner.
  • You: I'll let you get back to your meeting.

After completing Diplomatic Impunity, but before finishing Eyes of Stone they will be discussing without her.

  • Graden Wylkes: ????????????????

Once Eyes of Stone is completed, he will ask you to help sink part of Droaam navy.

  • Graden Wylkes: ????????????????

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

  • Graden Wylkes: ????????????????

On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:

  • Graden Wylkes: ????????????????

After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:

  • Graden Wylkes: ????????????????

Eyes of Stone[edit]

Graden Wylkes in his stone form is being protected by Ugarta, the earth mage. You must un-stone him to complete the quest.

Wylkes Manor[edit]

If you try to talk to him while at level 15 or lower, he will reply:

  • Graden Wylkes: Pardon me, but I have no time for conversation right now.

If you are at level 16 or higher, however, he will reply:

  • Graden Wylkes: Thank you for coming, <name>, I've asked you here because I have a problem you can help me solve. I need someone reliable to investigate the Path of Inspiration for me.
    • You: You can count on me. Why are you so interested in the Path of Inspiration?
      • Graden Wylkes: I believe they have kidnapped my son.
      • Graden Wylkes: My boy Jonas is always rushing off to join the latest club or follow the latest fashion. Recently he hinted that he was about to join the Path of Inspiration.
      • Graden Wylkes: This worried me, so I orderes my men to follow him. They reported that Jonas disappeared near the Sunken Parish two days ago while in the company of several Path of Inspiration members.
      • Graden Wylkes: I want you to find Jonas. Return to me when you are done.
        • You: Very well, I'll go to the Sunken Parish and find your son. (Bestow quest)
    • You: There are plenty of other adventurers in Stormreach. Why not try one of them?
      • Graden Wylkes: Oh, you are hardly the first. But as my security chief will tell you, one of my agents is stranded in some island, while a second returned from his mission a babbling idiot. So I have turned to you in the hope that you will do better.
        • You: You can count on me. Why are you so interested in the Path of Inspiration? (see above)

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

  • Graden Wylkes: Time is short, and I am not a patient man. I suggest you go to the Sunken Parish and find my son as soon as possible.

On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:

  • Graden Wylkes: I am grateful that you were able to save Jonas from his own recklessness. Clearly the Path of Inspiration is not the benevolent force it claims to be.
  • Graden Wylkes: Keep investigating them, <name>. I believe they are a threat to Stormreach.

After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:

  • Graden Wylkes: Well met, <name>. I'm afraid my son has wandered off again. Your services would be appreciated.
