Elemental Resistance

A piece of equipment with Elemental Resistance on it reduces the amount of Acid, Cold, Electricity, & Fire damage the wearer takes by a fixed amount, e.g. -5 or -30, etc. Elemental Resistance is applied before Magical Resistance Rating (MRR).

Reducing resistance / bypassing immunity[edit]

Some monsters are able to resist a portion of elemental damage, or they are straight out immune to an element. Fortunately, players have access to several ways how to reduce monster resistances or even make immune enemies vulnerable to a certain element:

Acid Resistance[edit]

A piece of equipment with Acid Resistance on it reduces the amount of Acid damage the wearer takes.

A piece of equipment with Electric Resistance on it reduces the amount of Electric damage the wearer takes.

Fire Resistance[edit]

A piece of equipment with Fire Resistance on it reduces the amount of Fire damage the wearer takes.

Cold Resistance[edit]

A piece of equipment with Cold Resistance on it reduces the amount of Cold damage the wearer takes.

Inherent Resistances[edit]

These are competence or insight bonuses which both stack with enhancement bonuses from items above or spells such as Resist Energy.
