Attack sequence[edit]
An attack sequence is a chain of attack animations that depends on your character's Base Attack Bonus, fighting style, and whether you are stationary or moving. A higher BAB also increases the speed of the attack sequence. Each animation can have a slightly different hitbox.
The following tables give the attack bonuses for each animation in an attack chain. Your character cycles through this chain as long as your attacks occur continuously. Pausing too long between attacks breaks the chain and forces you to start from the first animation on your next attack.
Tip: In PnP (DnD 3.5), extra attacks per round have a decreasing attack bonus. In DDO, later attacks in the attack sequence have an increasing attack bonus. One of the possible reasons for this design decision is to prevent players from constantly moving around, breaking the attack sequence, and thus benefitting from the highest attack bonus on each hit.

Two-handed fighting[edit]
Fighting with any two-handed weapon grants glancing blows at certain points in the attack chain, represented below by numbers between parentheses. The attack bonus for the glancing blows depends on your character's two-handed fighting style support feats. Three bonuses are listed, in the order (no feat/Two-Handed Fighting/Improved Two-Handed Fighting). Use only the one bonus that matters.
In red, bonuses for extra glancing blows that are granted only when the Greater Two Handed Fighting feat is acquired.

Moving[edit]
The following table assumes you have the Spring Attack feat, otherwise you get a -4 to-hit penalty while moving.
- As of update 5, there are no longer any glancing blows while moving, even if the feat Greater Two Handed Fighting is taken. {Confirmed in game}

Two Weapon Fighting[edit]
Note that the following tables assume:
- you have the Two Weapon Fighting feat (otherwise, subtract 2 from your main hand bonus and 6 from your off-hand bonus)
- you have a light weapon in your off-hand OR have the Oversized Two Weapon Fighting feat (otherwise, subtract 2 from each attack bonus)
After Update 5, an off-hand attack would have a chance to proc on any main hand attack now, instead of being predetermined on certain attacks. The base chance to proc an off-hand attack is 20%. Each Two Weapon Fighting feat improves this chance by 20%, to the total of 80% with Greater Two Weapon Fighting. Also the Ranger Tempest I and II each add 10%, so it is possible to get a 100% chance to proc an off-hand attack.
If you have this Ranger Tempest III, also add 2 to all attack bonuses.
