Treasure Map Piece[edit]

  • As of Update 52 Patch 1, Treasure Map Pieces no longer drop in-game and are not needed to open Crystal Cove. They can still be turned in for Doubloons.
    • They were initially gained by killing monsters in Smuggler's Rest, or humanoid creatures after drinking Pirate's Grog. Players then turned them into Euphonia's Barter Box; a server-wide number turned-in were needed to open the Crystal Cove (5,000 originally, then 3,000, and only 500 in 2020). Each piece turned in would also garner 1-10 Doubloons of any denomination.

Treasure Compass[edit]

With a Treasure Compass a character can gain access to the Crystal Cove during the Treasure of Crystal Cove event. In exchange for the compass, Foreman Wee Yip Yip will apply Paid to the NavigatorYou've paid a Treasure Compass to the Smuggler's Rest Navigator. Until this effect wears off, you may travel to Crystal Cove without further payment. which gives a six-minute access window to the Crystal Cove challenge. They can be purchased from Euphonia's Barter Box (400 copper, 200 silver, and 100 gold doubloons), purchased from the DDO Store for 50 DDO Points, or rarely found by killing monsters in Smuggler's Rest. Unlike other items dropped in Smuggler's Rest, the treasure compass will not go into any bag. It is bound to character on acquire.

Gem exchange rates[edit]

The Euphonia's Barter Box and Dusty Old Treasure of Crystal Cove crafting interfaces allow to exchange trade in gems for other gems or doubloons.

Note that because of the odd trade-down sequences, it is most efficient to farm Stolen Jaspers and Stolen Rubies. With these two you can trade-down on a 1-for-1 basis to everything else except Stolen Malachites, Stolen Star Sapphires and Stolen Diamonds. The only way to obtain new Malachites, Star Sapphires and Diamonds is to trade-in at a 3-for-1 basis (e.g. from Stolen Opals to Stolen Malachites).

  • Stolen Jasper -> Stolen Opal -> (legacy) Stolen Star Ruby -> Stolen Emerald -> (legacy) Stolen Sapphire -> (legacy) Stolen Topaz -> (legacy) Stolen Amber -> Stolen Pyrite
  • (legacy) Stolen Malachite -> (legacy) Stolen Star Sapphire -> (legacy) Stolen Diamond -> Stolen Ruby -> Stolen Amethyst -> Stolen Obsidian -> (legacy) Stolen Alabaster -> Stolen Pyrite
