You must have the required items in your inventory. If you run out of the components, the game will not allow you to cast the spell and will instead inform you of what component is missing. The metamagic feat Eschew Materials and some enhancements in Draconic Incarnation can remove this restriction.

Description

Enchants your wooden melee weapons to do additional base weapon damage, and converts their damage type to bludgeoning. Weapons with this enchantment deal an additional .5[W] damage (a weapon that deals 1d6 damage will gain +1d3 damage). Quarterstaves with this enchantment deal an additional 1[W] damage (one that deals 1d6 damage will gain an additional +1d6 damage). A weapon can only have one item enchantment at a time.

Notes

• This only works on wooden weapons, i.e. with Stout Oak Walking Stick, but not with Sireth, Spear of the Sky.

• Wellspring doubles the effects of Shillelagh.
• Bug: Duration of spell should be 1 minute per caster level
