Your casting ability is the Ability that governs your spellcasting effectiveness.
- The highest level spell you can cast is equal to your casting ability minus 10. If your casting ability is ten or less, you cannot cast spells!
- Your casting ability modifier affects your maximum spell points.
- Your casting ability modifier adds to your spells' saving throw DCs.
Depending on your class, your casting ability may be Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma.
- Artificers and Wizards use Intelligence
- Bards, Warlocks, and Sorcerers use Charisma
- Clerics, Druids, Paladins, and Rangers use Wisdom
- Favored Souls use Charisma or Wisdom, whichever is higher.
