Old stuff[edit]

Can anyone confirm on the stacking of paladin past lives? I would do so but do not have more than one pally past life myself... The thing is, I was used to believe that each past live adds 5% multiplicatively, not additively - making it 15.76% (1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05) instead of 15% (0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05) gain, yet wiki describes additive counting here, in past live feats and also in the healing amplification article. Thank you. Dodoroq (ContributionsMessage) 10:42, January 17, 2014 (EST)

Sorry, I have no idea on proper wikiquette or coding so please excuse my poor form here, I just provide information, but here's the information you are looking for: Paladin Past Life does NOT stack multiplicatively. It's a base stat boost of 15% only.

Tests conducted:

  • 3x Paladin Past Life (15% or 15.76%)
  • Warforged Base: 0.8
  • Healing Amp: 10% + 20% + 30%
  • Guild Buff: 10%
  • 6x Shintao PrE: 5% x 6 (30% or 34%)

In theory:

  • 15% + 30% produces 248.33
  • 15.76% + 30% produces 249.9738
  • 15% + 34% produces 255.9736
  • 15.76% + 34% produces 257.6653

Actual heal I obtain, is 255. Which suggests that the Shintao is multiplicative and that the Paladin Past Life is additive to itself only.

So the information from the Wiki in the other areas is correct.

Verified in game[edit]

Tested with Heal scrolls on 3 PL
Amp +10 per PL +5% per PL Actual
Math Result Math Result
50 110*(100+ 50)/100 165 110*(100+ 20)/100*1.05^3 152.8065 165
70 110*(100+ 70)/100 187 110*(100+ 40)/100*1.05^3 178.27425 187
130 110*(100+130)/100 253 110*(100+100)/100*1.05^3 254.6775 253
135 110*(100+135)/100 258.5 110*(100+105)/100*1.05^3 261.0444375 258

When you guys say "verified in game", did you look at the feat description (which is obsolete and wasn't updated) or have you actually done the math? Because the feat is giving +10 per life to my characters... Meh. --Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 00:43, January 26, 2016 (EST)

  • I do remember that the feat description was never updated. If someone doesn't beat me to it, I will test this tomorrow. — Zav(T·C) 01:59, January 26, 2016 (EST)
  • I have tested the feat's effects. (See table.) Amp is what appears on the character sheet. The character sheet counts each PL as +10. Do the math for a Heal scroll (110 with no Amp), using (100 + Rating) / 100. Do the math assuming the description is correct, -30 Amp and *1.05^3 (percentages are multiplicative). This confirms that this feat provides +10 Healing Amplification for each time it is obtained. — Zav(T·C) 00:08, January 28, 2016 (EST)
  • If the description says one thing and you get another, we usually go with what the description says and mark it as a bug saying what it is currently really doing. So, it should say 5%, 10%, 15% Bug: actually gives +10, +20, +30. ShoeMaker (ContribsMessage) 00:19, January 28, 2016 (EST)
