Update 13[edit]

Seal drop information is way off -- sure you guys don't mean base item drop? I've seen at the very least a Flameward seal drop from Marideth's chest in Lords of Dust -- in fact, I'm pretty sure this is where I've seen all the seals (that I've seen) drop (can only distinctly remember the Flameward seal, but it is believed among my guild that all the seals can drop from Marideth's chest...) 75.135.73.96 22:42, March 2, 2012
The seals may drop in other chests at a chance, but generally epic seals come from the quests the base items come from (VON and Sands are exceptions) Yawgmoth 03:04, March 3, 2012 (EST)

Just want to point out that's not really true at all. In fact it's quite the opposite. Sands is the only area where seals mostly match the base items dropped in said quest - though only for the few non-raid/explorer items. VoN it makes no sense obviously since all items are from the raid ,but seals are from all quests.. Red Fens:

  • Greatclub of Scrab - into the deeps. Seal for it? Fathom the depths.

Carnival:

  • Big top - into the big top.. Seal for it? Partycrashers.

Sentinels: All items from the tide turns.. Seals come from every quest but that one.

These epics, i've seen no patern like that either.

I think it is a mistake to talk about how things generally are.

After 8 or more full-party runs I haven't seen any epic ingrediants out of the end chest in Lords of Dust. Generally speaking, shards come from the last quest or the culmination of the story-line, yet I've seen shards drop from the first chest in the second quest... not just shards for items from that quest. Same with seals in Lords of Dust -- a good share of seals have dropped that don't belong to items from that quest.

People take the information on the wiki to be fact, my prior statement was made knowing the general trend -- unless you know for a fact how the drops are behaving please leave speculation out of it, because it seems very strongly to not fit the trend. As with all new Epic content, I'm sure that Turbine-DDO has simply failed to put things in the proper chests yet again. I also feel somewhat confident that by U15, they will have put the seals in the proper chests as-well-as the shards in their proper chest... It's just a matter of time. My reasoning for this deduction is the fact that all of the other non-U13 epic quests are broken as well where-as they do not drop any scrolls... SO, we must conclude they simply screwed something up.. AGAIN!!! ShoeMaker 08:44, March 5, 2012 (EST)

Funny thing is that this actaully worked correctly on lamannia - they broke it in the final patch before release kinda of:

  • On that build - All the chests in Lords of Dusts dropped named items on epic - they don't anymore.
  • The end chest was not epic - no token - but it did contain epic shards...
    • So bascially we traded shards, for a token, heh.

And yea Esheep is right, we should definetely list exactly as it is now, and not how we believe it should be.. As this game changes far too often in far too astoundingly uncomprehensible ways for us to worry about that.

So I'll go ahead and edit in my/his knowledge.

And ps Esheep: It's a wiki.. One of the ideals of a wiki: Be bold - Edit whatever you want if you feel your adding solid information, theres no need to ask first unless your really unsure or it seems like it might be a contraversial edit.

Update: Edit complete.. not sure on some chests, so feel free to fix any errors.

Shade -- thx for the edits... I didn't edit myself because I was (and still am) uncertain about patterns of the drops which is why I was using the talk page...

Also how do I make my posts (ie talk page, like this one) look threaded... I'm afraid someone else has been going behind me and making all my posts threaded... apologies for that... Esheep (Contribs • Message) 20:11, March 5, 2012

You are welcome Esheep. To get the appropriate "threaded look", use the Post template with the following format {{SUBST:Post|(Indent depth, usually whatever the previous person used +1 or 0 if first post but not always. iirc that is more specific details on this on Post template talk page)|~~~~ (This auto-inserts your signature and a date time stamp)|Your message / reply}}.
So more clearly as a recap.. {{SUBST:Post|(level)|~~~~|Your text}} keeping in mind that some characters do not work as they should within the post template like = and | which require you to use {{=}} and {{!}} respectively to make them work.. = is the one that confuses most people. Thanks again! esheep 11:22, March 7, 2012 (EST)

Update 15[edit]

Pulled the Shard for the Bow of the Silver Flame on Epic Hard difficulty in the end Epic Chest of Lords of Dust tonight. Updated the Lords of Dust page as well as the Web of Chaos Epic Crafting page (this page). I have a screen shot of it if proof is needed.

as Shoe and Shade pointed out above, seal/shard drop location was suspected non-WAI, do you think it is now?
