Name: Protection from Evil
School: Abjuration (Good spells)
Level: Clr 1Fvs 1Pal 1Sor/Wiz 1
Spell Point Cost: 10
Components: FocusFocus: A focus component is a prop of some sort. Unlike a material component, a focus is not consumed when the spell is cast and can be reused. This has no gameplay applications in DDO, as all characters are always considered to be carrying a focus component at all times and it does not require a inventory slot., MaterialMaterial: A material component is one or more physical substances or objects that are annihilated by the spell energies in the casting process. You must have the required items in your inventory. If you run out of the components, the game will not allow you to cast the spell and will instead inform you of what component is missing., SomaticSomatic: A somatic component is a measured and precise movement of the hand. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot move causing arcane spell failure resulting in a ruined spell. Spells without a somatic component may be used with disregard to Arcane Spell Failure chance. Note - that characters make the same arm gestures for most spells in DDO, so you can't tell which spells require this component by watching your character's animations., VerbalVerbal: A verbal component is a spoken incantation. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot act or speak. This has no gameplay applications in DDO, as all characters can always speak and there are no effects which prevent you from doing so.
Metamagic: Enlarge, Eschew, Extend, Quicken
Range: Touch
Target: Friend, Self
Duration: 1 minute per caster level
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No
Cooldown: 2 seconds (All except Sor, which is 1.5 seconds)
Description:

Creates a magical barrier that wards a target from attacks by Evil creatures. It grants a +2 deflection bonus to Armor Class, and a +2 resistance bonus to saves versus attacks from Evil creatures.

The target is also warded from Evil magical controls and compulsions, providing complete immunity to spells of the type: Dominate Person/Monster, Command and Greater Command regardless of the caster's alignment. This spell may be bugged at Epic level. Testing on Epic Normal reveals that it does not prevent Greater Command (even when cast by creatures known to be of Evil alignment).
