First letter of the NPC name is wrong, and pic file matches misspelling. What do I do with that? --— previous unsignedIcon tooltip.pngPlease sign posts using ~~~~ comment by Meander ( c |d| r| b) at 21:33, September 18, 2019 (UTC)

  • Do you have the right to move pages? In the top right corner of an article, there's a bunch of links: Read, Edit, Add topic, Page history, (star). And a drop down arrow that has additional options. One of them should be Move. Try it out. -- Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 07:34, September 10, 2018 (EDT)
  • Or here's the link to the move page: https://ddowiki.com/page/Special:MovePage/Talina_Eldcrest,_Tavernkeep. --Cru121
  • As for options, select "Move associated talk page" and deselect "Leave a redirect behind" (this is not a likely typo). And you will need to move the picture as well, and then update the article to link to correctly named pic. --Cru121
    • Good explanation, thank you. My wiki brain toolbox just increased. meander (ContribsMessage) 09:14, September 10, 2018 (EDT)
      • I did not have an option to choose/deselect redirect. I can easily just backspace it off the page of this fairly unimportant NPC, but it is more important that I learn how not to make disastrous changes for more important things later, so I'll leave it.
For the file/pic originally set for this with the incorrect spelling -- how is that handled? I have a new pic to upload, which is easy to do. Do I need to call out for the old one to be deleted? Again, non-essential NPC, could leave a spelling error in the image line, none-the-wiser, but I'm asking for broader purposes.
It's convenient to have a painless chance to figure out the order of operations.— previous unsignedPlease sign posts using ~~~~ comment by Meander ( c |d| r| b) at 15:37, September 10, 2018 (UTC)
      • I will delete the old article, I don't think we need it. Pictures... ideally should comply to naming policy. So it should be moved I guess. Or deleted and uploaded anew. Do you have the right to move pictures also? Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 09:58, September 10, 2018 (EDT)

  • Cru121, suppressredirect is an administrator only ability. Everyone else can simply edit the redirect page after the move and tag it with {{ Instantdelete | reason=it's an implausible redirect that doesn't follow [[DDO:Naming policy]] }}. They should also make sure to check the Special:WhatLinksHere/ page to make sure there are no links to the typo page that is marked for deletion. If there are any, they should fix them to the new page name.  👟 ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 👟
  • Meander, you should never not do something for fear of "disastrous changes". Files can be moved (renamed) the same as any other page. Just make sure to note the reason for the change as "Page name typo" and then go back and tag the redirect as instantdelete.  👟 ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 👟 11:37, September 10, 2018 (EDT)
