Drop rates[edit]

Drop rates aren't likely to be based on level. In my current heroic TR I'm seeing, usually, between 1 and 10 from a ground drop and roughly twice or so from a chest. However, I've personally had ground drops of 32 and 33 (in STK part 2 Elite, nonetheless!) and a drop of 40 from a chest. My suggestion would be to include a "normal" range (1-10) and then state that it's possible to get drops that are higher, or we can track and see what the max drops actually are. • IIRC I've seen 42 or 43 somewhere, might have been Redwillow Ruins or Gladewatch. --Cru121 (ContributionsMessage) 07:38, January 18, 2015 (EST)
    • I'm watching
      {{#widget:YouTube|id=jqKzqYrUyB8|t=0s|width=320|height=240|autohide=&autohide=0|autoplay=0|rel=0|modestbranding=1|annotation=1|showinfo=1|loop=0|}}
      and am seeing 1-10 with what appear to be crits for 31-37 (and have personally gotten 39). Chest drops seem to range from 1 to 40 so far. ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 21:50, January 21, 2015 (EST)
      • I guess I might be misremembering those 42. --Cru121 (ContributionsMessage) 21:59, January 21, 2015 (EST)
        • Going to have to agree with Cru- I'm seeing a lot of 1-10's with a few rare drops of 25 or higher. The most I've seen was a drop of 40 in a chest. The largest ground drop I've personally seen was a drop of 33. Not saying others haven't had larger drops, but that's my personal best. I think it's safe to give a general drop rate of 1 to 10 with potential "crit drops" of 25-40 being possible. If you agree, feel free to update the actual page. • Page updated to 1-10 with a rare chance of up to 40. Table removed since it is obviously not based on level. Thanks for your observations. — Zav(C·T·E) 22:25, January 26, 2015 (EST)

Hirelings/Traps[edit]

With the fact a hireling of appropriate level can get the remnant/chests to drop, is there a point in a section of listing quests that are simply the current level cap? Mireru (ContributionsMessage) 14:17, February 1, 2015 (EST)

  • Certainly, using a hireling to get a champion killed is not that easy and the other method, using misadventure via traps, is even rarer. Habreno (ContributionsMessage) 17:07, February 1, 2015 (EST)
    • Well, it's easy if you intentionally seek it out (the former more than latter), but yes, for a normal adventure it'd be a highly improbable occurrence.
      Also, thank you for cleaning up the abysmal wording I had used in the article. Mireru (ContributionsMessage) 16:54, February 3, 2015 (EST)

Drop Locations[edit]

I've had Mysterious Remnants drop several times within 'Irestone Inlet' (level 4 quest) and 'Chamber of Insanity' (level 5 quest) while quickly running them on a Level 8 Rogue. In both cases the monsters that dropped the Remnants weren't mini-bosses I'd slain. I think one kill was ranged, with a 'returning dagger'. So maybe there's a bug or they've changed the drop mechanics regarding character level and modified quest level since the DDO Wiki was last edited.
