DDO Server Transfers 2025
New 64-bit servers will go live on July 17, 2025 and you will have until August 31st to transfer characters off the 32-bit servers before they are closed.
At a later date TBD, SSG will reopen the 32-bit game worlds only for players to prepare their characters for transfer with no questing or other gameplay available for two years.

The Maruts

Overview[edit]
A rare encounter in the Orchard of the Macabre. You approach some Emerald Claw members facing a Marut Commander. Talking to the Abector of Vol in command will allow you to help them fighting the commander and his small army of Maruts. Once you defeat them, you can ask for either a reward in coin or information.
Objectives[edit]
- Speak with the Priestess of Vol
Rewards[edit]
Chest, Epic Tapestries Shreds, and 4,800 XP (for fighting the Vol)
or
Small Coinbox (containing plat only), Epic Tapestries Shreds, and 1,575 XP (for taking the money)
Encounter[edit]
- Marut Commander: The Lich, Erandis Vol, is near, but her exact location is hidden from us.
- Marut Commander: You follow her cult. You will bring us to her now.
- Abector of Vol: Well, well. One of the mighty Inevitables seeks our Great Mistress. Whatever shall we do?
Talking to her will give you those options:
- Abector of Vol: If you help us against this Marut, I'll reward you handsomely, either in coin, or in information. You may choose which once this threat is over.
- You: I suppose I can help. (Encounter start)
- Abector of Vol: We will never give up our Mistress to you! Attack!
- Marut Commander: Your actions have sealed your fate.
Once the fight with the maruts is over, you can talk to her again.
- Abector of Vol: I honestly figured you'd die caught up in that. I'm impressed.
- Abector of Vol: I'll tell you what, I'm prepared to pay you in coin for your assistance, or I can pay you in information. Which do you choose?
- You: What can you tell me about the Blood of Vol following a Lich?
- Abector of Vol: Caught that, did you? I was hoping you hadn't. It is true, the Blood of Vol serves not only the ideals of House Vol, but Erandis Vol, the Lich Queen herself. it is her hand that guides our path to immortality.
- Abector of Vol: That fact is now known outside of a select few in the very heart of the church.
- You: That is useful information.
- Abector of Vol: Alas, that secret is dangerous to our faith... I guess you have to die! (Start second fight)
- You: That is useful information.
- You: I'll take the money.
- Abector of Vol: 'Very well, thank you again for your assistance. You'll find a small coinbox over by the fire. Blessings of the blood go with you.'
