It doesn't disappear after the caster enters it. 98.95.59.153 21:00, October 3, 2010 (EDT)

?? as of update 6, it does disappear. almost instantly, 1-2secs later the caster takes it. i am pretty sure its written in release notes somewhere. --yoko5000 22:06, October 3, 2010 (EDT)
It doesn't disappear for me. I've checked several times. Have you tested it? 98.95.59.153 20:36, October 4, 2010 (EDT)
sigh, dont you casting yours right next to the quest entrance... Update_5#General_Spell_Changes - Lingering spells now fade if the caster gets too far away or dies. you use it, far from entrance, then take it 1st, you are now out of reach of this lingering spell, your party members will witness it disappearing. --yoko5000 21:41, October 4, 2010 (EDT)

Sections and the Persistence of Dimension Doors[edit]

About DDoors now staying up for the full spell duration unless the caster dies or leaves the instance: does this include leaving certain sections of a dungeon, or will the spell stay active as long as the caster is in that dungeon instance (that is, as long as the caster stays in the quest)? --Zt2211 21:36, December 14, 2011 (EST)

pretty sure its the whole quest. iirc Shroud counts as a bunch of seperate areas (as you lose the temp weapons when u leave prt1), but a casters ddoor remains up if he takes it in shroud.. not sure tho, ill double check Shade 22:01, December 14, 2011 (EST)

Tested some more.. It does go away if you get out of a certain range - a VERY wide range tho, roughly 5 times the standard spell range. And it still persists for 6 seconds once the caster is out of range (say he took it himself or left the instance).

This differs from other persistant spells, as they disappear instantly. (EG caster has up a firewall and DDoor, take sthe dd - FW disappears instantly, DD lingers 6 seconds to allow other party members to escape. )

Image Size[edit]

It's a bit large, and stretches across the text. Niminae (ContributionsMessage) 07:31, June 19, 2015 (EDT)

Tips[edit]

Unless I've misread the text, which is more than likely. It seems to imply that Monsters cannot enter the Dimension Door? I'm certain within the Spinner of Shadows, Khyber Hezrou have followed and come through a Dimension door cast by a group member, thus entering the locked-off 'starting' area.

Well, several of them certainly ended up there, creating even more Soul Stones on the path to the Shrines... Unless they somehow kept teleporting through the barriers to the living players carrying the Soul stones, which could be the answer?

Monsters don't use ddoor. Teleporting mobs use their own ability to reach you.,Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 07:44, March 11, 2016 (EST)
