  • I agree. -- Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 07:23, October 29, 2020 (EDT)
  • Oppose. It can be tagged with {{History}} as an item that was created on Lama but never sent to live.  👟 ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 👟 08:05, October 29, 2020 (EDT)
  • I agree with Shoe, but we must be sure to not list this item in the loot table. MrLizard (ContribsMessage) 09:03, October 29, 2020 (EDT)
  • Agree with MrLizard. Arkat (ContribsMessage) 23:48, October 30, 2020 (EDT)
  • It's still in the loot table. Please at least remove it from the loot table. There are still people who think it's in the game.

  • I believe MrLizard's comment "Done" was more in reference to the "history" template being added to the page, not that an update was done on the page to prevent category classification from being processed for this item. The concern you (Cru121) surface of undesired category injection is a bit more than superficial to address. Since categorization is handled by the named <item category> templates, there would need to be logic put in on every one of those templates to determine whether categorization is desired or not (most of which are protected). After that (or maybe better, before), some guidelines should be defined for when categorization is excluded from being processed. We can start with the position that items that do not exist (yet?) in game should not be included in the various item categories. Maybe the next move here is to add this to the request queue on the administrator dashboard so this does not get lost in the noise. Joenuts (ContribsMessage) 05:37, October 31, 2020 (EDT)
  • You know, either we do all that, or we can delete the item. Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 05:55, October 31, 2020 (EDT)
  • By 'done' I meant that I removed it from the quest drop table, which was the main concern of Arkat. In my opinion we could double check how other historical items are being handled in the wiki with respect to categorization, and try to do the same here. MrLizard (ContribsMessage) 10:01, October 31, 2020 (EDT)
  • Just a comment: one way to solve this category listing issue wiki-wide would be to insert |notcategory=History by default inside T:Named items category, and create an optional parameter for the user to choose either to show historical items or not (like |history=yes/no, default no). MrLizard (ContribsMessage) 10:11, October 31, 2020 (EDT)
  • Just removed it from that table as well, by removing the item from Update 47 releases (since it was not even released). So, to remove it from any other tables, unfortunately either as by Cru121 we should delete the item, or as I mentioned we should apply a wiki-wide modification like assigning |notcategory=History by default in {{Named items category}}, and creating a new parameter 'history' = 'yes/no' in that template with 'no' by default (my opinion). MrLizard (ContribsMessage) 11:37, October 31, 2020 (EDT)
  • Thinking better... maybe {{History}} is not fully appropriate for this item. According to the template: "This page is about a subject that no longer exists in-game." By in-game I understand it went on live in the past. In this case, this subject never existed in-game. Then, I changed my opinion above: either we delete it, or we create a specific category and template for prototype unreleased items (and add |notcategory for this new category in {{Named items category}} as default). Although, I am still in favor of |notcategory=History also as default in the template, even if not applying to this case. MrLizard (ContribsMessage) 12:12, October 31, 2020 (EDT)
  • This seems to have switched from being poll based for whether or not to delete to discussion based... I've properly applied the {{History}} template, cleared out the extra unneeded stuff, and added |nocat= to everything so it won't show up in categories. I hope this solves all of the issues (I honestly didn't read most of what's above as it's TL;DR for me right now, so I skimmed it and tried to take care of any issue I saw).
