Regarding your block[edit]

This is, if I'm correct, the second time you've had an IP blocked on this wiki. I am basing this suspicion on the fact that, shortly after the IP address 104.200.145.226 was blocked for creating the page Discord (now re-deleted), you recreated this page with pretty much exactly the same wording. Rather than just block the IP address and delete the page, which I suspect is just going to get recreated, I will now attempt to explain why we are deleting this page.

The reason we have deleted the page in question is that DDO Wiki very seldom hosts links to external sites. The exceptions for this are the wiki's own social media sites, DDO fansites managed by Standing Stone Games itself (which the new Discord is not) and very rare cases on specific pages where it is much easier to link to a secure page rather than try to transcribe the information (such as puzzle solvers.) The fact that we already have the announcement above most pages explaining the existence of the new Discord is a one-time decision by one of our bureaucrats, one of the few people on the wiki with the authority to make decisions about what links are and are not allowed.

Furthermore, the way the page was written ended up with it sounding rather like an advert, which is exactly the sort of thing we're trying to avoid. That, and the fact that we never create pages specifically for linking to a single site, are the reason the page was deleted. Because this was also a policy violation, and DDO Wiki applies zero tolerance to IP editors, we blocked both IPs

If you're still interested in contributing to the wiki, I suggest you create an account and, while you're at it, have a look at DDO wiki:Editing guideline, which explains what we expect you to bear in mind when editing. If, on the other hand, your only purpose in coming here was to create a page for a single hyperlink, please stop recreating it. It's not getting you, or anybody else, anywhere.

(Note: While I'm not going to hold you to it, holding multiple accounts, IP or otherwise, is called sockpuppeting and is also banned. If I am mistaken and you are in fact independent of the user at IP address 104.200.145.226, please inform me and I will write to them as well.) This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. If you're concerned with privacy, registering also hides your IP address.
