New Items by Update[edit]

I have a suggestion. Let's call the topics in this template (perhaps only going forward - I don't think that we have to rename/move existing topics) to "Update 16 new items". I guess it's my fault because I started adding new affixes to the U14 items list.

Sorry about my delay as I have been away, I think Update ## named items is more appropriate. They are all named items, all will use a "template:named ..." Yeah they are new, but I think named is better than new for the purposes of page naming.

Well, I suggested moving from named items to new items because the topic now also lists new random loot item enchantments, e.g. Convalescent. These are not named items.

I'm in the camp that the categories should be more granular, and the category 'updated 16 named items' is right in line with that. Perhaps a parent page that listed update changes, which could reference the new named items, new spell power modifiers, new damage modifiers, new quests, new zones, etc. would be the way to go. --Joenuts
new random loot item enchantments, e.g. Convalescent belong on the Update ## page and not on the named item page because they are after all, not items.

@Joe: Granularity is a good thing. E.g. the U14 items list is pretty long and could certainly be divided. However, I am not sure if we're going to see updates of this size in the coming months. If we split the pages, they might end up being to small for minor updates.

@Tech: Update xy page shows the release notes, so, hmm, no. And convalescent items are u14 new items.

My point is, convalescence is an enhancement, and not an item. Create a separate page something like History of item enhancements and put all of the enhancements in there by mod/update they were released as section headers. I think that would look nicer than mucking up a named item page with random enhancements.

Please add a line

  | namespace =

to filter to only list things in mainspace (and filter out the Category: pages). DDOstream (ContribsMessage) 11:07, November 20, 2019 (EST)

Please add "(White Plume Mountain)" to update 39, "(Borderlands)" to update 44, etc. Thanks. Hoopy Froodle (ContribsMessage) 10:41, July 19, 2020 (EDT)

  • Why are we adding that? Currently, none of the other quest pack names are presented in this template. The only things that are noted are the expansion packs - and I'm almost thinking it's time for those to go away as the list grows. At very least, it should be reduced to "hover" text (possibly by use of a piped link).  👟 ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 👟 11:33, July 19, 2020 (EDT)
