The Alluring skill group[edit]

Someone now needs to create or add 'Alluring' to the skills template, as I do not know where that lives to even make the attempt. But once that's done hopefully this page will transform from a huge, broken mess into a completed page.

Per dev statement:

Alluring Bonus:
UMD is not part of the Alluring Bonus, that was a text error and has been corrected. It includes: Bluff, Diplomacy, Haggle, Perform, Intimidate
The non-insightful and quality bonus, is an Exceptional bonus and the description has been updated. That means it will stack with current skill items (normally a competence bonus).

I used Skills|Alluring|3|Exceptional for the base skill, which seemed most appropriate since the skill is providing an Exceptional bonus rather than the typical Competence bonus, and Skills|Alluring|3|Insightful|prefix=Insightful (replace Insightful with Quality as appropriate) for the other bonus effects.

Just poking around other items it is confusing because some items abbreviate the skill name (i.e. 'diplo') and some use the full name (i.e. 'diplomacy'). The full name seems to be the most current usage.

The use of 'Alluring' as a keyword is a little bit fucked up since Alluring already exists as an indicator of a Charisma stat bonus in Cannith Crafting and new random loot.

  • I have created something in the T:Skills. I had to adapt this article so that it fits my implementation. But I think it's working okayish atm. I have not added granular categorization because I suspect devs will never again use this enchantment. So it's just C:Alluring items. But now that I think about it, readers might mistake it for charisma items... Perhaps I should change it to C:Alluring skill items. Let me know what you think. --Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 13:11, October 2, 2017 (EDT)
  • Also the description is pretty generic. Screen shots of Lamannia did not show any description for the ability, not sure if it changed on live. --Cru121
    • I think Alluring Skills would be the better option, as that is how the item reads.

And if it matters for the implementation, I'd suggest that it be as robust and future-proofed as possible, unless that makes it a huge pita to do. Now that the ice is broken (which was broken with heroic green steel so many years ago, so using that as a template might be the way to go) I wouldn't be surprised to see other items created which use either this skill group or any other skill stat group. --Niminae (ContribsMessage) 10:54, October 3, 2017 (EDT)
