Talk:Slavers Part 1 Trap and Plate DCs

Forums: Index > Village pump > Slavers Part 1 Trap and Plate DCs

Ran Slavers at level on Reaper 1 (Elite DCs) after my lengthy hiatus. I just got back or this would be here sooner.

Spot/Search:

→ Wall Trap: Could not spot/search wall traps with a 30 Spot/Search. 32 on both succeeded but forgot to drop down 1 point for testing. DC 31-32.
→ Floor Plate: Spot 30 and Search 30 found the Pressure Plates. Spot 29 and Search 29 did not. DC 30 on the Pressure Plates for certain.

Disable:

→ Wall Trap: Rolled high on wall traps (42 is lowest success) but suspected DC is ~38. Needs more testing to narrow the number down to exact.
→ Floor Plate: Pressure plates fail on a 36 but succeed on a 38. Could not roll a 37 due to low sample size.

Slavers was not entered on the Wiki under level 8 quests. The whole chain is unknown or not linked. I haven't made any edits yet that I remember so it will be new to me if I do it.

The Search DC values that you mentioned, which you appeared to need to find the Trap Control panel(s); look extremely unusual (especially your suspected [31-32]) for a Level 8 quest on Elite. Rather those Search DC values - for the plates - are what I'd expect from an generic Level 9 quest on Elite, i.e. Search DC:30.

I don't own the Adventure Pack: Against the Slave Lords, so I cannot verify those DCs you stated or help you much with filling in the table really. Because I don't know which quest it refers to or the individual trap locations, etc.

I did once run through the quests on Lamannia (prior to U32, August 2016). Albeit I cannot remember any noticeably high Search DCs for the "plates" or I would have probably retested after U32 release date – next time Lamannia was available (out of academic curiosity). I believe the quest you were referring to was maybe: Slave Pits of the Undercity? I vaguely remember that one trap in that series [Lamannia] might have been an outlier though. Therefore it is possible some Trap Search DCs are higher than [28 Search] in those quests.

If some of the Spot and Search DCs were raised specifically in that quest "manually" by the DDO Developers' then it's also likely the Disable DCs will also be slightly higher by around maybe; two, or so... Disable DCs don't tend to be as ridged as Spot and Search DCs generally are.

To be honest I don't know if [Reaper Mode] alters Trap (Spot/Search/Disable) DC either; though I would suspect not, from casual observation and just effects: trap damage output.

Otherwise good luck with recording the Spot and Search DCs and I'm sure one of the DDO Wiki Editors that owns that pack will be able to help better you with editing the new table(s). :D Dywypi (ContribsMessage) 12:02, July 17, 2017 (EDT)
