Cooldown

From DDO wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

This is a property of active abilities/spells in DDO that determines how long you must wait before casting a spell (or using a feat / skill / enhancement) again.

Many spells of the same class and level have the same cooldown, although some spells have much longer cooldowns. Spells with long cooldowns include all symbol spells (EG: Symbol of Pain), and Dimension Door.

The standard cooldown for Artificer, Druid, Cleric, Favored Soul, Wizard, and Bard spells is 1.5 + 0.5*level seconds. Sorcerers have reduced cooldown as a class feature, and their standard delay is 1.25 + 0.25*level. Rangers and paladins have longer cooldowns of 1 + 1*level seconds.

Note: Every usuable ability and spell in DDO also triggers the minimum globally-shared cooldown of 1 second.
