Talk:Introducing : Dynamic item lists

Part of what I've been working on with the item template refactors is a method to display item properties on a single line, where the data is pulled directly from the base item defition page.

There are a lot of places in the wiki where item data is duplicated as a convienience to the viewer to be able to see a snapshot of item properties where all items have something in common. ( New named items are listed as updates come out, items are listed in quest pages, items with properties are shown in disambiguation pages where multiple levels of an item exists, etc. )

Using the DPL extension and the revised item display templates, now lists can be created and shown dynamically ( using categories as criteria to select what items are to be displayed ).

I've put together an example on the Ammunition  page. The idea is that the category page will contain a list of all ammunition items, and display some details in single line format for each item.

Currently, the DPL list has a filter to display only the pages that have been converted to use the refactored template. Once all pages have been converted, the filter can be removed, and all future pages added to the ammunition category will get automatically displayed on that page.
