Protected status[edit]

I am not able to edit this page. When I want to modify it, I cannot type in the edit box. Also, not sure if I did something wrong. I wanted to unprotect the page to see if I could edit it. But there was only a "protect" link. I clicked it, then manually edited the url to change protect into unprotect. It made an entry in the proection log, but it did not allow me to edit it. So I protected it again. However, the funny thing is that now the link at the top says "unprotect", while it said "protect" before. Tihocan 10:43, March 3, 2006 (EST)

It wasn't protected. I had forgotten that editing pages in the MediaWiki: category requires 'editinterface' privs, which only us site administrators have right now. Let me fiddle with permissions. (post by Peerless - see his talk and contribs.)
It still does not work. Any hope to get it fixed? I want to add more so that I can write an official guide on how to format the data in spells and such. Tihocan 17:06, March 6, 2006 (EST)
Give me 5 minutes. (post by Peerless - see his talk and contribs.)
Working, thanks a lot. Hopefully I'll have more time tomorrow. Tihocan 18:03, March 6, 2006 (EST)
I can edit it but it does not work as expected. See for instance Template:Official: it's not in font weight 700 like it should be according to this file. I believe I did not really understand how it worked... Tihocan 14:48, March 17, 2006 (EST)
It's on y our end. There were some formatting errors her (namely always adding a unit unless you just can't period) and ending lines with a semicolon to designate a commandbreak. Mostly, though, your end is caching the CSS - the CSS is autogenerated from this URL: http://en.ddowiki.ws/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Truglass.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css&smaxage=18000 - first of all mediawiki is caching it from the database, so your changes aren't even visible to a first-time visitor for a bit unless you force the cache to reset (by visiting that URL multiple times in a row), then even when mediawiki has arealized the change, your local cache won't realize it has changed until it make s a periodic check among a mass of visits - so visiting THAT page 5-6 times quickly will reset mediawiki's cache, then reloading any page on the site 3-4 times after THAT will reset your LOCAL cache and everything should work. Make sense? It is a limitation of current browser technology not being meant to work with dynamic sites, but instead with static non-changing content database type sites. That and mediawiki is h**** cra*** - again, xevo and I are working on fixing the mistakes that they made in the first place, as usual... (post by Peerless - see his talk and contribs.)
Oh, ok, thanks a lot. I must say I know absolutely nothing about CSS, and thus had no idea of what was wrong -- Tihocan 13:34, March 20, 2006 (EST)
As a side note, this spam filter can be annoying when replying to your posts ;p Tihocan 13:36, March 20, 2006 (EST)
I'm one of the reasons I added it (-; lol - and you'll learn quickly enough. (post by Peerless - see his talk and contribs.)
