Tips and Misc

• You've been asked along to the Morgrave Library to help put the Codex into a magically secured chamber. Unfortunately, head librarian Joslyn D'Sivis has gotten a little too close to the evil sentient book, with predictable results.

• The book "Seeing the Impossible: Behind the Dark Curtain" for Steps Obliss lies on the floor in the next room, just around the bookshelf. It can be acquired without completing the quest, but if you do want to collect the book and complete the quest, mind the "point of no return" past the broken window.
• Note that the book is only selectable if Steps has given you the quest to find the book, and only one person can pick a copy up per run of the quest.

• Joslyn summons several Fey and Slaadi and runs off with the Codex. Fortunately, Zarnoth the Vigilant has a plan – since the Codex is driven to recover its lost pages, you can trap it and free Joslyn by taking three pages from the book to a nearby Displacement Field Generator.
• To follow Joslyn, you'll need to break a large window in the Library and jump out into the street.
• As you chase her, Joslyn activates portals that teleport you to other planes. (Interestingly, since the barrier between Eberron and other worlds was destroyed in the Codex and the Shroud incident, the Codex seems to have unlocked the ability to summon monsters from planes other than the Eberron thirteen, as all of the planes it interacts with here are from the Forgotten Realms setting.)
  • The first portal, to the Shadowfell, activates as you run through a corridor. The exit is further along the corridor.
  • The second and third portals take you to the Elemental Plane of Water and the Abyss, respectively. Each has four portals with an associated cardinal direction which take you to a corresponding hall back on the main map.
  • There is a rocky ring in the centre of the Elemental Plane of Water containing Vortex, and a lava pool at the bottom of the Abyss area containing Vanthoss.
• Two codex pages are in the central section of Morgrave containing the two permanent portals. Head west to speak to Foxpaw and east to speak to Lady Sera Jaymes.
  • A secret door in a room North of Foxpaw contains a trapped and locked chest.
• As you exit Morgrave into a courtyard, Joslyn summons a Fomorian and then a Nightcrawler to fight you. After these are down, head south into the Aurum Welcome Centre to get the final page from an unusually cooperative Kalphan Riak, then take the pages to the Dispelment Field Generator and fire it to finish the quest.
• There are five notes:
  • One in the library near Zarnoth
  • One in the room with the big breakable window
  • One each in Foxpaw's and Lady Sera Jaymes' classrooms
  • One in the Aurum Welcome Centre
• The Traveler turns up in this quest disguised as a rat, in his last appearance before formally revealing his identity. He seems to have realised that the business with the green hat is rather giving the game away, although you can still have your character mistake him for a Cranium Rat if you so choose.
