Overview
Strange reports suggest something has gone wrong in the home of the ranger Peron Uthe. Go to Uthe Lodge by the river in Eveningstar and investigate.
- This is the second quest in The Druid's Deep story arc
Spoiler Warning: Information below this point can be considered spoiler material!
Objectives
- Investigate Uthe's House
- Find the source of the corruption
- (Optional) Kill all enemies before Wood Woad leaves (5% of base XP)
- (Optional) Kill all enemies before Wood Woad leaves (5% of base XP)
- (Optional) Kill all enemies before Wood Woad leaves (5% of base XP)
- (Optional) Defeat the Wood Woad
- (Optional) Defeat the second Wood Woad
- (Optional) Defeat the third Wood Woad
- Defeat the Dryad
Known Traps
Bear traps - one in the hallway past the first Wood Woad, two in the next room, and two in the room with the Mysterious Bard
Tips and Misc
- The Wood Woads leave less than 30 seconds after spotting them, giving you around that much time to deal with two waves of enemies. Time limit varies with difficulty.
- The optionals to kill them, and thus get additional XP will only appear if you complete the "kill all enemies" optional.
- Defeating any number of Woads before the encounter with Jussko Kwahn means not fighting at that encounter. They won't come back to life or anything, so the fight will only have as many wood woads as you didn't kill, up to 3.
- The Dryad boss fights like any other dryad. Once you injure her enough, she will retreat into her tree to recover. She will emerge from her tree fully healed.
- Your goal is more the tree than the dryad. Killing the tree ends the quest.
- The tree is attackable only while the dryad is returning and inside, if the dryad emerges, the tree heals also, so kill the tree quick when the dryad is down.
- It appears that this dryad's tree can also drop Vial of Dryad Tree Sap
- It is possible to kill the tree, while Dryad in it, with a single blow using nightmare weapons like Thaarak Wraps (Heroic Elite).
- More Wisps and Stalkers. Bring the appropriate resists.
- Lots of plant monsters. Plant Bane weapons are very useful.
- Woads love to use Earthquake. Prepare to be knocked down often.
- You frequently move to different levels of the house, which can be disorienting. However, the path through the quest is linear.
