Template talk:ScrollWandPotion

The link for BV parameter currently points to Base price modifier, which is incorrect. One solution would be to get rid of the link; instead, hovering over the text should pop up a box saying something like this:

Base value of the item before shopkeeper markup, reputation quest discounts, or haggle.

Or, as a minimum variant, replace text "BV:" with "Price:" and get rid of the link.→ --Cru121 03:05, April 5, 2012 (EDT)

Our templates generally use the formula: {{Cp2BV|{{BV2cp|{{{base value|Unknown}}}}}}} to display a uniform number on all places.. Different people might call the base value:

The first template the value sees is Template:BV2cp (Base Value to copper pieces), takes any currency value that I could think of and turns it into a simple raw cp vaule string:

  • What the template user might enter.
  • 3,325 gp 2sp 1 cp
    • 332521
  • 16,200 gold
    • 162000
  • 5,827pp 31gp 199cp
    • 5830299

The second part of the process is to use Template:Cp2BV (Copper pieces to Base Value) to convert that raw string number back into what people recognize as a currency:

This is the process that all of our "Named Item" templates use. Big Grin ShoeMaker (ContributionsMessage) 08:30, April 5, 2012 (EDT)

You guys keep coming up with all kinds of high-speed templates. I really wish there was better documentation on the available templates on here. I would have saved myself a ton of work. But oh, well. It's all good. Now, before I start editing all the pages again, are there any other helpful templates out there that I should be aware of? Ague 09:44, April 5, 2012 (EDT)
While it is not yet 100% complete.. I have been recently working on updating Category:Templates, you can find many of them there. ShoeMaker (ContributionsMessage) 09:53, April 5, 2012 (EDT)
