Ardor
Effect: Ardor is a clicky/potion effect that provides a bonus to positive energy spells for a 3 minute period. I-IX number written on it indicates maximum spell level affected. This bonus, like Monk, Bard and Halfling buffs, cannot be dispelled.
Whereas Potency, Devotion and Efficacy items have accurate descriptions, Ardor clickies/potions actually provide 15% for each 10% that a Potency item of the same tier would provide. Eg. A Superior Devotion II item provides a 50% bonus to a Cure Moderate Wounds spell, whereas a Superior Ardor II effect would provide a 75% bonus.
Some spell-like abilities are also affected by Ardor/Potency effects. Eg. a Halfling's healing Dragonmarks, a light Monk's Healing Ki, Radiant Servant abilities, the Past Life: Cleric feat.
Various grades of Ardor potions are available at vendors, but Superior Ardor potions are found only in House Jorasco's House of Wizardry, and House Phiarlan's Object Desire. Potions are available up to spell level 5 (Cure Light Wounds, Mass), so acquiring a Superior Ardor VI clickie (minimum level is currently 10 on a randomly generated weapon) is a great way to optimise the Heal spell at level.
Note that Ardor clickies nor Potency items do not increase the effectiveness of Wands/Scrolls.
