Talk:So much broken lately

<ncl>Category:Clicky items/Invisibility</ncl> - This catagory does not appear to work at all.

The monster list was replaced with a non-functional template.

Several base items have names that do not follow the name in game, and multiple ways in which the same word is used (Long Sword/Longsword, Great Axe/Greataxe, etc.) with links to non-existent pages.

There's more, but I believe the point is made.

I'd try to address some of these, but history has shown that my attempts to do anything outside of the most vanilla of edits have not been well received, so I'm done with that. - Niminae (ContribsMessage) 19:24, June 27, 2017 (EDT)

  • Clicky items  doesn't exist because it doesn't follow the naming convention, try the appropriate Invisibility clicky items  8 instead.
  • What monster list? All the monster lists look very nice to me as a collapsed (per request) table instead of a gaudy, broken, inconsistent, inaccurate bullet list. Yes, there are still many pages and monsters for someone to go through, and I've been trying to do at least 5-10 a week until they are done.
    • Please also comment on this discussion if you have an opinion on whether the Monster section should be collapsed by default or not if you have an opinion! Thanks!!! DDOstream (ContribsMessage) 08:42, July 11, 2017 (EDT)
  • There is actually a policy on which words we should use. TL;DR of it is that whatever Turbine/SSG/DDO used/uses is what we should use. Feel free to pop into Discord chat server and let us know if you find something not following this guideline which is intended to resolve just the issue you are talking about.
  • I'm not sure what you mean by this last section, I had thought you were a good editor and I appreciated your edits. If there is a disagreement about something, the best thing to do is have a simple discussion about it and figure out what is best for the wiki. Discord chat server is probably the best venue for small things, and an on-wiki forum/talk page for larger topics if it can't be resolved on Discord is the best bet.  👟 ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 👟 22:20, June 27, 2017 (EDT)
    • Check out the code for Freezing Ice:
<!-- | found = Green Steel accessories - Tier 3 Dual Shard Aspect of Ice II Items && Alchemical Weapons - Tier 1 Water && Dragontouched Armor - Sovereign Rune of Ice-->

None of the crafting systems that the code seems to suggest should be mentioned as sources are listed on the page. And there is a list of items for each differing level of Freezing Ice that I do not see any explicit mention of in the page source, nor do I see any code that suggests it is pulling this list of items from somewhere else. -Niminae (ContribsMessage) 20:39, June 30, 2017 (EDT)
      • See the <!-- --> surrounding the code? That means the code does absolutely nothing. It gets parsed out and isn't used by the MW core software. Whomever added the code probably did that because they knew that something was amiss or there was stuff missing. I'm not sure what you think should be different about the coder's notes, but it has no effect on the page or the template.  👟 ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 👟 21:00, June 30, 2017 (EDT)
      • This is what's wrong: None of the crafting systems that the code seems to suggest should be mentioned as sources are listed on the page.
