Talk:In development

Category[edit]

Is it an idea to add the following category to this page?
[[Category:Modules and updates|*]]
- Kage (ContributionsMessage) 17:36, April 10, 2014 (EDT)
  • It's not a module or update, so why would we do that? Besides, it's in the site notice, so no need to add it to "somewhat" categories... ;) ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 18:00, April 10, 2014 (EDT)

Format of the page[edit]

Anyone likes the format of this page? Anyone objects if I revert it to wiki format? It's impossible to edit a section. I think it sucks. --Cru121 (ContributionsMessage) 02:48, January 7, 2014 (EST)

see Talk:Old 'In Development'. is there a way to add editsection link manually? --yoko5000 (ContributionsMessage) 04:03, January 7, 2014 (EST)
Why are we using <h4>section</h4> HTML tags instead of ==== section ==== to set sections? I'm confused. ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 08:03, January 7, 2014 (EST)

Quote Template[edit]

Quite a lot of the quotes on the In Development page seem to be pretty old. But there is no way of knowing when the quote happened - especially if the source url is now invalid. Could the Quote Template be adjusted to include a Date line? unsigned comment by Snake (ContributionsMessage) 05:30, June 14, 2013

I believe Template:Quote has had one for a while... I think I added it and maybe just forgot to document it is even documented in the usage section --> {{Quote|"developer" OR "author" (Required)|"source" OR "link" (Optional)|date= (Optional)|quote= (Required)}} . Mod 7.1?[edit]

Thanks Borror0 for pointing me in the right direction. Like i Said in the DDO Forums, you have the in development as for 7.1 and you list the spells being added, But it was never mentioned they were going into 7.1 only that they were being worked on for the future.--Dragnmoon 18:28, June 12, 2008 (EDT)

We've sort of pointed that out on the page too. "Unknown. Unofficially calling it 7.1." Any idea to make it clearer? --Borror0 18:34, June 12, 2008 (EDT)
I think you should distinguish the article as 7.1 name unknown and add another category, like they used to have on the WDA, in Development for future Mod I think it was called, and add things there that are not verified for 7.1, or something similar.--Dragnmoon 18:43, June 12, 2008 (EDT)
Cool, will do. --Borror0 19:14, June 12, 2008 (EDT)

Rune Arms[edit]

removed the unconfirmed/opinion about rune arms. Most likely the devs made the rune arms charge effect show all tiers like that on purpose for Tier 5 arms, and just copy pasted it onto the lower tiers.

Update 18 or later...[edit]

This information snuck into the U17 Return to Gianthold page...

  • DNT - stormhorns landscape - uhh? bug or new area?
  • DNT - wheloon landscape

These are both references to locations in Cormyr. The Storm Horns are the mountain range along the High Road. Wheloon is SE of Eveningstar. Glenalth (ContributionsMessage) 03:24, January 25, 2013 (EST)

cool makes a lot of sense now.

Page Format[edit]

The content of this page has broken down thus:

Seasonal coloured theme for this page has been employed due to the annual release of four updates per year, here are the color schemes used and page structure I put in place:

  • Schedule: Color: FF3300 // All upcoming updates with information bullet pointed only.
    • Spring: Color: 99FF99 // Spring update (Usually March time)
    • Summer: Color: 00FF33 // Summer update (Usually June time)
    • Autumn: Color: 663300 // Autumn update (Usually September time)
    • Winter: Color: 3399FF // Winter update (Usually December time)

Expanded notes & quotes are placed into each updates section without cluttering the brief schedule in the page header.

If more updates begin to be slotted into the annual schedule made by Turbine this would need to be amended but presently it fits well.

Update 24[edit]

These are transcribed from the livestream on 11.19.14, and are unedited - sorry about that, but I should get back to school work. If someone wants to clean it up a little and throw it into the in development page, that'd be lovely. You can also find the official release notes on the forums here.

From Live Stream:

  • Glamoring applies to weapons now.
  • Glamored weapon aura. Can put any effect on any weapon – acid, shadow, etc.
  • New Quests, including a free standalone quest in eveningstar which ties into the tyranny of dragons' storyline.
  • Third delirium dungeon in the 12 / Lord of stone's housewarming party / protect a fashion show.
  • Sentient Weapons? There's a UI in lamaland right now that's connected to an old piece of interface, has nothing to do with live.
  • Increase of drop rates! :D (Mysterious Bauble was named, Animus Runearm was named, Druid's Deep items in general {So Forester's Brush Hook might actually be seen by somebody now!}, High Road items, Gianathold, Wheloon, Diciples of Shadow, Stormhorns) ...but those are mostly new things. It is NOT confirmed if it will be easier to get the pieces to old school epics, or any items that area ridiculous, such as the Sky Pirate's Dagger or Tiefling Assassin's shortsword.
    • Combination of adjusting loot tables for some "older packs" and coming up with new thoughts about how loot should be dropping, and adjusting things to fit that. "Quite a bit of older content and boosted the drop rates"; "IN some places just as small as 1%, in some places, some items went up as much as 8 or 9 percent." (Is that 1 percentage point, or one percent better drop rate? Huge difference.)
    • "Named items in some menactarun desert quests are increased on elite and epic difficulties but not so much on normal." "Raids were not adjusted in this pass" but they want to get around to it.
    • "Overall, we have not done a pass on the shard/shield/scroll system" (They might look at it later if there's enough interest.)
  • U24 is supposed to come out in December.

History and deleted content[edit]

thought deleting things was taboo. historical reference and all that. *shrug*--Uurlock (ContribsMessage) 20:41, September 21, 2016 (EDT)
  • What was deleted? This is a dynamic page about the current and future state of the game. All history for the page is still available on the history page. ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 02:26, September 22, 2016 (EDT)
    • What you can't see? Didn't you use the 'history' function to find out? Tongue History page is for those who have intermediate to advanced understanding of wiki, which isn't 99.99% of the users of the wiki.--Uurlock (ContribsMessage) 15:26, September 22, 2016 (EDT)
      • There's nothing I can't see as one of list of 4 stewards. I still don't understand what you're asking. This page is not for the entire history of the game. Historical pages about the game and its progress are available on most of the other pages on the wiki. Is there something specific that you wanted history of for some specific reason? ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 15:30, September 22, 2016 (EDT)
        • Not for the history of the game, but for the history of what is being developed, as things have and do change from what they plan to what actually makes it. Anauroch for example. And yes, I know you are a steward, what point is there in putting that out there? Tongue --Uurlock (ContribsMessage) 16:09, September 22, 2016 (EDT)
