Talk:Spell Descriptions in Enhancements

I've been changing some of the Enhancements pages for Update 19. I've been putting in full spell descriptions exactly as they are in the DDO Enhancement description. My thought was A) keep the text as is written in the Enhancement box, B) Users can print out the page and plan out a tree with a pencil, and C) The Enhancement effect may be slightly different from the Spell effect. For C), the one I looked at did have a different cooldown, and the Enhancement version didn't require SP. I noticed someone else took some of the spell descriptions out however. I can see the benefit of that way as well: 1) shorter pages, 2) if the spell changes, it would only need to be changed in one spot. Which should we go with?

In general, I believe if the enhancement is exactly the same as a standard spell (being it free of cost or not), a link to the proper spell should be enough (like most dragonmarks and Human's Heroism). If the enhancement have some difference between the actual spell or not (like Sorcerer's and Divine Disciple's SLAs), type out the differences (cooldown, SP cost, DC calculations). If it is a unique spell (like drow's Darkfire), keep the full description.

Personally, even for stuff like Darkfire, I would include only a brief description and make a separate article for the spell effect. The enhancement pages are long enough.

Ok, for Dwarf and Cleric:DiD Enhancements, I've removed the spell descriptions for those enhancements that provide existing spells. I left in the SP and Cooldowns, as they differed. Thearcher (ContributionsMessage) 22:17, August 26, 2013 (EDT)
