Talk:Skaldic Rage
Does it stack with Rage spell?
Does it stack with Primal Scream from Fury of the Wild?
Does it stack with Orcish Rage from Half Orc?
(Orcish Rage: Action Boost: You become enraged, and gain a +2 Primal bonus to Strength, but suffer -20 Physical Resistance Rating. Using this ability prevents spellcasting and uncenters you.)
Are you treated as raged for "while raged" enhancements? Namely:
- Fury of the Wild: Tunnel Vision, Acute Instincts, Unstoppable Fury
- Half Orc: Power Rage, Raging Crush;
- Frenzied Berserker: Power Rage, Focus Wide, Focused Wrath
- Occult Slayer: Willpower Rage
- Ravager: Hardy Rage, Critical Rage
Answers I know:
- Stacks with Barbarian Rage. Probably not WAI
- Stacks with Rage spell or Primal Scream
- Frenzied Berserker's Power Rage does not increase your strength in Skaldic Rage--Cru121 (Contributions • Message) 08:11, August 23, 2013 (EDT)
In this thread [DDO Forums] is stated several times that, as of 26/08/2013, Skaldic Rage stacks with Barbarian Rage. --anon
Right. I have actually seen this earlier today but haven't had a chance to edit this. Let me correct my answer.--Cru121 (Contributions • Message) 05:49, August 27, 2013 (EDT)
my tests[edit]
I've rolled a vet 4: Human Bard 3/Barb 1. Fresh off boat, he had 20 Strength (+1 lvl up, +1 starter item).
- Without spending any AP, my barbarian rage added +4 as expected, for a total of 24.
Next I invested 1 point into Warchanter tree.
- Without activating Skaldic Rage, Barbarian Rage now adds a +8, for a total of 28.
- Without activating Barbarian Rage, Skaldic Rage now adds a +4, for a total of 24.
- Activating both rages adds a +8, for a total of 28.
Conclusion 1: Taking the Warchanter first core ability increases the strength bonus of your barbarian rages by +4. Activating Skaldic Rage is not necessary for the benefit. In fact, it's bad, because you lose additional -4 AC with no benefit.
Next I invested few points into Ravager's Hardy Rage.
- Barbarian Rage receives the benefit of increased Constitution.
- Skaldic Rage does not receive the benefit.
Next I invested 1 point into Frenzied Berserker's Power Rage.
- Barbarian rage now grants +9 for a total of 29.
- Skaldic rage does not receive the benefit.
Conclusion 2: Barbarian enhancements that make your rage more devastating don't increase your Skaldic Rage.

- Next, I tested on my dormant Bard 16 / Rogue 3 / Fighter 1 in Fury of the Wild who has not yet touched the new enhancements. I will be testing the "while raged" function using Acute Instincts.
- I cast Rage (spell). My Wisdom increases by 2. (WAI)
I let rage expire. (Rage icon stays displayed at 0:00 but that happens.) Wisdom decreases as expected.
Then take the Warchanter 1 core ability.
- I activate Skaldic Rage. My wisdom increases by 2.
Conclusion 3: Skaldic Rage counts as rage effect for the purposed of FotW.
