Talk:How to properly update quest xp in a table?

For some reason the total xp in the tables are all listed as 0. Looking at other similar pages, e.g. Ravenloft : https://ddowiki.com/page/Mists_of_Ravenloft, the page just calls the data from a category instead. But there is no seperate categories for feywild part 1, part 2 or wilderness quests. I cant figure out how to add a category to those quests either.

I guess adding a category to those quests would be the best way to do it? How do you do that?

  • What is the best way to do it? Well, the categorization (and eventual listing) of quests has been a long and debated process. The short notes of it being that the quest template (that would apply categories automatically) is protected and the administrators do not care for going through the talk pages and solving issues with the template. And the second issue being the further categorization and order in which the quests would be listed (which we haven't found a solution for yet).
So, the current way to do it? You can either update the xp totals on the spot, or you can place the quests in a category manually (by placing [[Category:myowncategory]] somewhere appropriate in the page - usually the start or the end). Updating the xp totals means that at some point they may change and be invalid while the categorization may prove an obstacle to a future universal solution. But on the upside, we will have correct info on the page for the foreseeable future :) Faltout (ContribsMessage) 03:54, January 29, 2022 (EST)
