Agonshar ( Talk • Contribs • Patrol • Moves • Year •  )

I am nominating myself for promotion due to the lack of my present ability to be able to manipulate various pages, the main reason this has come to my attention as a requirement is Green Steel - its an absolute mess and one which i cannot go forward with without more tools to do the job basically; even with promotion its going to be a very horrible huge to say the least, I think I've counted 6 different pages all showing the same information or overlap causing a lot of confusion and it seems to be an area nobody else is looking into correcting other then one user who contributed a lot towards collectibles a few months back that highlighted it as a confusing mess, simplifying and expanding upon to be a crafting page/set of pages that just makes sense to first time visitors to this crafting type.

Based on this requirement I am fairly positive as time goes by I will find this promotion a useful addition for me as a DDO Wiki editor and allow me to carry on contributing successfully to an improved database of valued information for players. Needless to say I would without question only use this ability for positive changes, verifying any initial changes as go as I have done at each rank advancement.

As you can see from my own page & tabs I am tracking my own work in a very careful manner and would continue to do so, hopefully this also reflects my attitude towards working on DDO Wiki too, which is a positive, helpful & enjoyable one. I'm proud of my contributions, enjoy helping, I play regularly so am in touch with the current specific/general game issues and where they fit in here.

Thank you for reading, thank you for the consideration (I just want to say that I have looked at rank advancement stages and am acutely aware i am requesting this a lot earlier then it would normally be provided, this request isn't made in ignorance of this fact, just what seems to be right for me to do in order to push through my current task.)

Again - Thank you.

  • Hello Agonshar. While 43 months old is plenty old enough, the fact that you have only made 359 edits makes me resistant to granting you the administrator bit. I would love to, however, allow you to work on this greensteel project, yet I am unsure as to what you have found that makes you think that you need the administrator bit. I would be happy to lower protection levels or delete redundant pages that have been properly deprecated or make edits per request based on a sandbox edit if it is a template that shouldn't be lowered. We actually have some processes for most of these actions such as the {{Delete}} template to get a page deleted (our current deletion policy may require a post on the talk page or in some other central place to obtain a consensus before the deletion can be carried out). As for lowering protection levels, leave me a note on my talk page with a list of things you need lowered (or pages to delete if it is taking awhile and no-one has responded). Happy editing in the meantime! Smile ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 14:31, May 5, 2014 (EDT)
  • I have to agree with Tech on this one. I just checked and didn't see any protection listed on any of the GS pages. While I do agree that the entire GS section is a hot mess (it took me FOREVER do get a solid foundation when I was originally coding my GS planner for YourDDO), I am fully in support of a revamp for added Fung Shue. Anything I can do to help facilitate, don't hesitate to ask. And once your edit count gets up there, I will fully support your promotion to an Admin. -- Ague (Talk · Contribs · Blocks · Deletions · Imports · Patrols · Page Moves · Page Protects · User Merges · User Rights) 15:44, May 5, 2014 (EDT)
  • Thats ok - it doesn't phase me too much at all, I was listing all the varied pages for GS and thought - what WOULD make this a whole lot easier? "Oh I know - what if I could just remove/delete/edit and so forth at will on all the pages" and that led to my application, I'm not put off one bit, I'll carry on regardless as I'm here to help. But I have looked again at the links I have compiled of the pages I'll be working with and none have any DELETE options which is what I would be looking for. That's ok though as I can mark them on the appropriate admin page here.

And I might just request that help, I think firstly I'm going to mark all the links I have as fitting into one of the pages i have outlined, why not take a look there and make sure I'm going in the right direction - feedback is always welcome. Above was copied from DDO:Administrators' noticeboard/Requests.

Having edited for 12.9 years and accumulating 1,259 edits with no significant gaps in the four months, I think Agonshar would make a great administrator under the probational provision as they had a large gap between 19-NOV-2013 and 15-FEB-2014 should he choose to accept the nomination. Thank you for consideration of promotion to probational administrator, I accept the nomination gratefully and will continue in the vein which has brought me to this point. Agonshar (ContributionsMessage) | My projects | My ToDo list | My Sandbox | My Links 12:09, May 30, 2014 (EDT)

No complaints from me. He seems to be in mid-hiatus at the moment though... -- Ague (Talk · Contribs · B · D · I · P · PM · PP · UM · UR) 14:38, April 28, 2015 (EDT)
Oppose - He has multiple editing gaps within the last year: July 2 2014 - October 5 2014 (~3 months), December 21 2014 - February 14 2015 (~8 weeks), and February 16 2015 - present (~10 weeks as of today) and thus doesn't meet the time requirements. He is also on hiatus currently. At this time I am against promotion. If he were to return and have consistent contributions for a period of time, I would be inclined to support promotion. — Zav(T·E·C) 17:07, April 28, 2015 (EDT)
