Category naming[edit]
I vacillate whether to use nouns or adjectives in the names of subcategories, e.g., Category:Spell resistance monsters vs. Category:Spell resistant monsters. I used nouns to match subcategories of Category:Monsters by race and Category:Monsters by type, but I'm not wedded to that decision, particularly since those other categories don't lend themselves to adjective forms. ⇒ Hoopy Froodle (Contribs • Message • Email) 14:07, April 13, 2018 (EDT)
Better approach?[edit]
The discussion under Category talk:All spells got me thinking. Could this entire category tree be replaced by tables generated from an updated version of {{Monster}} with more granular qualities fields? On second thought[edit]
When I created this category tree, I was unaware of the page Monster DR and weaknesses, which accomplishes the same purpose in a much simpler way. - Hey, Frood! I am interested in this whole discussion big time. Let's chat! I am getting back to wiki and feel sluggish about the wiki tools, so I'll edit monsters for a bit before helping restructure with templates and categories. Feel free to check out my page for a working list of monster abilities and special attacks that I was getting into in March. I think a template for popup on these things, set in monster category/subcategory, is the way to go. I agree with you that naming has some challenges. I also see some overlap in monster traits and attacks (like flame aura) which was where I stopped before being taking a wiki siesta due to RL Knockdown.
