This is the story of the life and times of Toborg written by the creator of Toborg.[edit]

Toborg was born in a small city outside of the great castle of Blackmoor. He was the product a one night sexual flair between a livestock handler of the royal guard stables and a handmaid of the queen. When the man found out that he was to be a father, he tried to kill the handmaid to stop the conception. He was caught before he could finish by the guards on duty and killed on the spot. They had assumed that he was trying to assault a handmaid to gain access to the queen's private rooms. When his mother was found to be with child, she was let go (thrown out of the castle) for fear of trying to work her way up the chain of power. She found outside help from the rogues guild to shelter her and care for her...in exchange for inside information on the workings of the castle. Time for my mother went by quick and peaceful til my birth. I was born early in the morning without incident. My mother on the other hand died during the delivery. The guild didn't need or want an infant in the guild so they dropped me off in the market place of the city of Blackmoor, with enough food for three days. A young elven woman found me and took me home to her husband, which agreed to take me in as his own (not knowing I was a halfling, not a human such as he, nor an elf, as his wife was. My adopted father was a city guard and my adopted mother stayed at home all day and took care of me. She dabbed into wizardry when she was alone at home, so from time to time, I saw her do things that made my father mad when he found out. He kept telling her that she was not to show that she knew magic in or around the town, not even at home. It was to dangerous, if [they] found out, there would be trouble for them, and they would be banished for sure (I learned years later why, but I don't want to jump ahead, so be patient). Growing up on the streets of Blackmoor, was at first boring, until I learned who to and not to hang around. My "parents" tried to keep me from the seedier side of town, but I seemed to be drawn to it like a moth toward light. I soon learned that to be unseen was to become an asset to someone that wanted to travel the side streets without running into problems. By the time I was old enough to bed a woman, I had learned a lot of information that most travelers would pay good coin to obtain. Secrets of the Nobel houses that most would be thieves would kill to learn. One such secret would change the course of my life forever. I learned who [THEY] were. A secret (that everyone knew about) cult of magic using old guys that didn't want select persons using magic within their territorial boundaries. They didn't seem to mind travelers that were not staying or small tribal shamans doing the herbal mixtures, but if they found that people outside of the wizards Guild were practicing or regularly using magic, they would run them out of the known borders of their territory. Knowing this did nothing for my like for them, but it didn't seem to matter to me either. my mother was a small time dabber, and would never use it to openly use in the common market or doing something in the public that would cause any harm. No that was not the problem. The secret that I found was darker than that. They were witch hunters of sorts. They hunted Elves, Half-Elves and other race that could use magic on a greater level than them. They would hunt them down and have them killed or kill them themselves if at all possible. Further in-depth probing found that all of the guilds looked the other way and allowed this to go on for fear of ?!? The only guild that didn't look the other way was the thieves guild. instead, they worked with them and were hired out to assassinate the offenders. I am sure you can see where this is going... I came home one morning to find my father pacing the floor, When he saw me he questioned me in depth about my mother and where she might have gone, maybe for some private time to explore her magical nature. After which he broke down and cried (something I had never seen him do before, in my life) Foul play had happened within the walls of my sanctuary. I ran into the streets looking everywhere, hoping to see a glimpse of my mother, either walking down the road, or....
