Just hit 'next diff' and so on on each of those... there's a lot of odd edits. What were you trying to do? : "Regarding Diff 2"
: Well, you see how you have indexed, for example:
: Khyber > Khyber characters > Elves on Khyber > Elven fighters on Khyber
: when you go to the category, "Elves on Khyber", it should list the character/toon but it doesn't because it needs the reference so that it displays the character name in the listing. - Highway 15:25, December 28, 2006 (EST)

: There is nothing displayed for 'Articles in category "Elves on Khyber"' - Highway 15:28, December 28, 2006 (EST)
:: P.S. Huh? [[User:Peerless|<span style="color: #0067db; font-weight: 900; text-decoration: none; font-family: 'Arial Unicode MS';"><big>[e]</big></span>]] · <span style="color: #006a00; text-decoration: none; font-family: 'Arial Unicode MS';"><big>t</big></span><small> & </small><span style="color: #c20032; text-decoration: none; font-family: 'Arial Unicode MS';"><big>c</big></span> 15:35, December 28, 2006 (EST)

:: Anyway...
:: The way the character categorization tree is structured, this list must be completed before every character will automatically be correctly categorized: Characters/Tree. The red ones aren't yet created, while the blue ones are (though not necessarily correctly). The first time a character of a certain type is created (drow/ranger/xoriat for instance) somebody (usually an admin, or me, or now apparently you) has to go create the correct tree for that type of character. For instance with that last example...
::* First, the top category that literally has the character placed into it, has to be created:
::*: Category:Drow rangers on Xoriat with the content it needs to be correctly placed into the corresponding parent category, namely for this example:
::*: Drow on Xoriat
::* Then, we have to categorize it's parent (the race/server cat) correctly too...
::*: Category:Drow on Xoriat with the content it needs to be correctly placed into the corresponding parent category, namely for this example:
::*: Xoriat characters
::* Finally, we have to categorize the top server character category right:
::*: Category:Xoriat characters should be placed into the corresponding parent categories, namely for this example:
::*: Xoriat and Characters
:: I hope all that made some sense... does it? Need more explaining? :: P.P.S. See these edits for an example of how we could possibly do what you are wanting - it's just more difficult to achieve:
::* Raw1
::* Raw2
:: NCL work for you? [[User:Peerless|<span style="color: #0067db; font-weight: 900; text-decoration: none; font-family: 'Arial Unicode MS';"><big>[e]</big></span>]] · <span style="color: #006a00; text-decoration: none; font-family: 'Arial Unicode MS';"><big>t</big></span><small> & </small><span style="color: #c20032; text-decoration: none; font-family: 'Arial Unicode MS';"><big>c</big></span> 15:39, December 28, 2006 (EST)

::: Yes, I'm familiar with how the tree structure works and those that I created were copied from existing categories that you created for others, I merely changed the keywords to match the topic. What I was getting at, at the time, was that toons that have been categories along the tree structure didn't show up as entries in the listing marked 'Articles in the category "Whatever"' when you visited that category page.

::: The simplest way to correct that was to add an additional line which
::: Elves on Khyber within the template.

::: This way, when the "Elves on Khyber" is displayed, it properly lists all the toons/articles that references that category.

::: Now that you're using 'NCL', I guess it's a moot point but I don't like the way NCL displays the data, but that's just me.
::: - Highway 16:05, December 28, 2006 (EST)

:::: Well the point is to have the NCL as an alternative to the normal categorization structure, but the point is that the normal categorization structure would show only that which is explicity placed into it - for instance, look at :Category:Xoriat. If the category page showed all the articles in it's subcategories... then it would show all the characters and all the pages and all the guilds on that same page... without descrimination or any sort of explanation of which is which. See why it's impractical? And putting them both directly in the category, as well as above the category, causes it to logically display twice in the magic category div. If you have a good solution, shoot, else, I'm as stumped as to how we can easily make that data available to users as you are. My original plan was to simply redirect every category page to Characters, which makes it simple (you can easily see what characters are in the Elves on Khyber category that way) and if that's okay with you, it's probably what I'll do.
