Talk:Starting a Barbarian

What is better, a pure 28-point 2H Barb, with the recommended Feats and Enhancements, or a Frenzied Barbarian, such as described here? http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Enhancement:Barbarian_Frenzied_Berserker_I If I did want to make a Frenzy Barb, what would I change? --BarGamer 23:20, September 17, 2009 (EDT)

Nevermind, I read the page for Frenzy. What masochist would ever choose to hurt themselves for more DPS, even if they had an uber Cleric?--BarGamer 02:25, September 18, 2009 (EDT)
What does the 28-point guide mean by "Critical Rage?" There is no such Enhancement. What should I spend the Enhancement points on instead? Hardy Rage?
the extra damage is well worth it. 2D6, you're going to do an extra 2-12 damage and take only 1-3 damage. That's a tiny amount of damage. Once you get in double digit levels, the extra damage will become a lot more helpful and the damage you take will be less than negligent with heal spells and mass cures being tossed around. Barbians deal damage and forgo defense. Fighters deal less damage and have better defense and can also cripple the enemy (trip, sunder, stunning blow, etc.) Ybbald 13:28, March 17, 2010 (EDT)

Confused about feat suggestions[edit]

In the Feats section there's a line: "Taking three of either the two-handed or two-weapon line, and the other three above feats is six feats spent." Except that's actually seven spent. Three from the weapon line, plus Cleave, Great Cleave, Power Attack, and Improved Critical. Leaving no feats left over for Stunning Blow or Precision. Also, Cleave and Great Cleave are not prerequisites for Overwhelming Critical. It looks like the Cleave requirement is one which has changed since the page was written originally. --— previous unsignedIcon tooltip.pngPlease sign posts using ~~~~ comment by 107.150.66.36 (d| r| b) at 21:30, September 18, 2019 (UTC)

  • Math updated. If you have other ideas how to improve the article (these tend to get obsolete), let us know, or edit the article directly. Happy raging. -- Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 04:11, November 16, 2017 (EST)
