Player character

Player Characters (or PC) are online heroic creatures created and controlled by players. These adventurers may join a team and delve into dungeons, battles monsters, and explore the world’s dark wilderness.

Other nicknames for player characters are "alts" (for alternative characters outside of a player's first- or most-played character), or "toons" (as in "cartoons", as a player character is electronically animated).

A player character's name is denoted by a light or dark blue name above the character while in-play.

Player characters often interact with non player characters, or NPCs, whether they are static in-game quest givers, vendors, or hirelings.
