Description | A thin rod of gnarled wood containing charges of the Ray of Frost spell. Eternal wands recharge over time if they are not actively being used. | |
Notes | The wand created from recipe 1/20 is titled "+1 Eternal Wand of Ray of Frost" and casts the spell Ray of Frost. The damage rating is 1d3 +1 per caster level and has a caster level of 1. After full upgrades to caster level 5 using multiple recipe 2/20's, it becomes a "+5 Eternal Wand of Ray of Frost."
The wand is not bound when created, but is automatically bound to character when equipped, so it can be mailed, traded, or auctioned. The wand is Exclusive; you can only have 1 in your inventory. Attempting to create a 2nd while the first is still in your inventory will fail with an error message, but not consume any ingredients. The spell's full damage description is stated as "1d3 +1 per caster level (max 5)." The 5 refers to the maximum caster level bonus. Maxing out the caster level through multiple recipe 2/20 transmutations will result in a max hit of 8. As with any wand, this damage can be further improved by enhancements. For example, Tier 1 Archmage Wand and Scroll Mastery I gives a 25% effectiveness bonus to the wand, resulting in a max hit of 10 (125% x 8), etc. As of the 2013 games, the Glaciation Recipes can no longer be applied to this item. |
